I think that coming right out of school, I'd go where your money will go the furthest. Knowing that it's only a couple of years at most will make it easier to bear. What Chuck says about exposure is important though, so as long as you are still going to be recognized for your work in Kansas, that would be my choice.

Wherever you go, make some noise and be noticed. A very wise man once told me that he ascended quickly in his company by never turning down any request to do anything that would help out, regardless of how much you'd rather pass on it. I believe he was known to have put on a dog costume for some presentation skit that is now best forgotten, because that's what was needed and he wasn't going to be one of the many who said, "No way!"

And, no matter where you end up, just log onto BOTL.org and you'll feel at home!

Go get 'em!

I lived 20 minutes north of Pittsburgh for 21 years. When I wasn't able to find a teaching job at the age of 25, I moved to Virginia.

Based on those 2 experiences, I agree with the person that said to move to the place that is in the middle of nowhere.

Well I guess my advise is going against the grain here. But I would have to say stay in the east. If you accustom to the bigger cities then I can almost guarantee that you will be bored out of your mind in Kansas with in a year. But with that said If you know for sure that you will be able to move on with in a year or two, head to Kansas and tough it out!!

I'm a Buckeye fan thank you very much.
And if you are a Falcons fan...seriously.
Will that team ever win a SB?
