The Navy Blue Angels

Holy cow! There is an airshow here this weekend with the Blue Angels at the Goodyear airport. They are practicing out here right now and have been all day! The airport is about 2.5 miles straight south of my house, so they are flying all over the place and I'm watching them from my patio! Is this cool or what? My wifey wanted to know if we were going to the airshow itself, and I'm kinda torn about that...too many people. I think I'm gonna grab a bucket of chicken and a jug of wine and head to the dog park (straight off the end of the runway about a half mile from there) and watch.

There is a huge balloon show, with them floating all around for 3 days, morning and night, too. What a great weekend in store!

A couple of days before Fleet Week they practice over downtown SF.
I usually work from home that day and watch them buzz by my patio.
Very cool!

There was an airshow here this past Sunday at Seymour Johnson AFB. Lots of practicing going on Saturday. How do you get 10 five year olds to play soccer when there are jets flying in formations over the field and others circling around?

I live about 10 miles from the AFB. This was far enough on Saturday to catch the different jets/planes that were circling around waiting for their turn to approach the show.

They did an air show in my town a couple of years ago. Truly one of the most incredible things I have ever seen.

I haven't seen the Blue Angels yet, but I got to see the Thunderbirds (AFs aerobatic team) at Niagra falls when I was about 6 or 7 years old, really don't remember exactly when, but I do remember seeing them fly. It was an amazing display, to put it mildly...
