Well after a 16 year or so hiatus from smoking, I am a second time around noob. There was not much (if any) on-line info the first time around . . . this interweb thingy might just catch on.

My son is off to college so now I get to have some quiet time around the house and really enjoy that relaxing cigar time on the porch with my wife. Since I am a high school teacher, premium cigars will be extremely rare so I will be searching for "best bang for the buck", humidity control and storage advice type posts. I have a 50 ct desktop I got in a package deal and have since purchased a tupperware box for overflow. My wife is getting upset already and we're only a month in!

Questions abound, and I know I should search the forum, but after searching the internet, I cannot find anyone with the same questions. I am looking forward to some good advice from the BOTL.

Thanks for being here!

Welcome from SK!

Alot of guys will swear by cat litter as being the best & most affordable type of humidity control. I use heartfelt beads myself, so cannot give you any specifics as to what type of litter, or how to condition it for use, but if I had to do it over, I think I would go with the kitty litter. (just because of price)

As far as affordable storage, a good cooler is all a person really needs.

Maybe some of the fogs here can point you to previous posts for more info on these subjects...

Welcome from Michigan

I have beads in one cooler, kitty litter in the other. Find both work the same but have to add to beads occasionally :)

Welcome from Arizona! There are some great budget sticks out there ($5 and under). About a year ago I picked up pipe smoking to supplement the cigars since pipe 'baccy is more cost effective and a completely different experience, plus it is a scientific fact that pipe smoking makes you smarter :eyebrow:
