So I got the black ice pie wedges and I really like the geometry of the device. After doing some reading, I am beginning to second guess my purchase. It was a quick one because I went on the advice of one person (the salesman at my local B&M, JR). Now I am considering the 65% HF beads to replace the black crystals using the same containers.

Questions:

Does the black ice device really give and take moisture?

Should I bother to replace the crystals since it is just a 50 ct humidor?

What do you think about putting the HF beads in the pie wedges in place of the crystals?

How much of a percent change in RH does it take to really tell a difference in the smoke?

I have the black ice in one of my humis and it holds perfect at 69% I fill the triangles with the CI "cigar juice"

A lot of guys love the heartfelt beads and others swear by kitty litter. I guess I'm just lazy but I keep my eyes open on cbid and grab boveda packs @ $2 apiece when I can. Super easy and rock solid in my experience.

i use HF beads in one cooler and kitty litter in the other. both are equally successful and havent added anything to the kitty litter one since i set it. the beads, occassionally.

if you are asking for a straight recommendation id say get some exquisicat scent free kitty litter and some tupperware and start fresh
