Hmmm, I personally like Litto's different bands. Not a big fan of most of his LFD Ligero or DL lines though.
I noticed a few have said that some bands are, what amounts to being, 'out-dated' or 'not-with-the-times'. What does that mean? Some of the beet bands have been the same for a couple decades or more. I am not sure I understand what the beef is?
Yes, there are some things that are aesthetically disagreeable, but for much of this discussion, isn't it all the eye of the beholder? For example, the new Camacho bands... Why do those who dislike them, dislike them? (I am neither for or agin 'em) I my be wrong, but I would guess it is partly because they were familiar with the old bands, and the new ones are marked departure from that. (Of course, that is just MY theory, but based upon the fact that their previous bands were not embossed, or anything else spectacular, just plain jane.)
My question is, does the artistry of the band matter? I suppose it might garner a cigar a second look. But there are also cigars that come without bands.
Pete Johnson's bands are very plain and boring, but I did not see his listed in this thread. Viaje bands, for the most part also would fall into the category of "artistically challenged" bands. Neither uses embossing or even much in the way of raised lettering.
Is it possible that there is a subconscious response? Cigars we like, if they change their bands, are now ugly bands? And cigars we do not lik, have ugly bands?
I do not know, just asking some questions.
Peace of The Lord be with you.
