After all them samples I still couldn't resist the want to open a Tin. So because Dan Tobacco Holmer Knudsen's 50g Tin is thicker then the other 50g Tins I picked it to open. (Yes I know now I have 3 Dan Tobacco's open) Loaded it in the Cob. I was very happy with the pick and I am sure I will have it smoked before next weekend. Very nice candy corn on the mild side. Didn't have any tongue bite or any issue with extra moisture I sent a pipe cleaner through the stem to bowl to see what I would get and there was some slight color changing on the pipe cleaner about the size of the shank. Very good burning tobacco. One light went to the bottom of the bowl.

Right now having some Virginia Woods in a little Dr. Grabow Duke. When I picked the pipe I was going to smoke some Flake and for some reason I had to smoke some of this and I have to say it is a Awesome smoking tobacco and paired well with this Pipe. Wasn't what I was expecting from this blender but a pleasing smoke... First thing when Opening this Tin I was hit with only thing i could think of is Ketchup. I handed the Tin to my wife and asked her what she smelt and her reply was spicy tea or black licorice. This is again a awesome no casing or topped tobacco. Has some awesome complex flavoring. I will smoke this again. Have more Tins added to my orders from time to time.....

Ok I am really bad. I had to open this Tin and looking at the date it is dated 2006 so i was expecting something out of this world.

Smoking McClelland Tawny Flake in a 1949 Arlington pipe. When I popped the top I was hit with some very strong Ketchup smell. I asked my wife to smell it and she said turning her nose up to it that she can't tell the flavors from it because it was a little strong for her liking. I took the tobacco that is a little flake tobacco about 1" or 1 1/2" long and 1/16 thick and rubbed them out. Packing this bowl to the top. When I light it up I get some grass/hay and slight sweetness from this tobacco. After a Retro that was very SMOOTH the smoke seemed to get a little sweeter. It was under fire rather well. Only having to light it once, until just past the 1/2 mark when I had a phone call and didn't puff enough. While it was not lit I took a couple of draws with no smoke and I had a very mild spice flavor. After a light tamp and a relight there was a burst of flavors from mild licorice spice, and Retro was a very nice woodsy flavor. As mild and smooth this is it does seem to have a medium to full flavor finish. No not one that bites just a nice heavy woodsy spice flavors. One thing about this tobacco is there wasn't any bite though out the bowl. The Tobacco looks wet but felt dry while rubbing it out. Only thing that I didn't like about this smoke is it does have lots of fluid build up in this pipe. So I will smoke it in the Savinelli that I love so much and see if the need for pipe cleaners are the same as it is in this straight pipe. One thing I love about this pipe is I can unscrew the Stem from the pipe and blow out the stem into a paper towel will only need to use 1 pipe cleaner this way even running it in the shank to dry it out I can get by with 1 cleaner. This is a tobacco that I will buy again and keep in my rotation of tobaccos

Larry's Blend in a Grabow Lark that I just finished cleaning up yesterday. This is one of my favorite morning tobaccos and the small bowl on the Lark was perfect for my commute to work.
