Ok last night had my First go with Dan Tobacco Blue Note. Smoked it in my Omega. Sadly I don't think it was a Very good tobacco for the pipe. It smoked well but it BURNT the heck out of my tongue. One of them slow burns you don't know about until later LOL. The tobacco was very nice at the start. Didn't seem to burn while smoking until the last 5 or so puffs. Then it burnt allnight.

So today going to give it a go in the Savinelli 622KS. Now the tongue bite has gone away after a nice lunch. It was still there after Breakfast. Hope everyone is enjoying their day.

Cleaned out the 622KS didn't finish the whole last bowl of Dan Tobacco Blue Note. Guess it just isn't for me. Got about 1/2 way through it and wasn't liking it much. So after a good cleaning of the pipe I loaded it with some Gatlingurlier's Sugarlands Honey. It is ok tobacco. Mild smooth with a slight spice however the spice could be left overs but I don't think so because it isn't always there. The Retro is very smooth and sweet. I was thinking ok not to bad, Lets look them up. It is a Tobacco shop in TN and his house blends. Don't say anything about it besides "A sweet, old-fashioned blend." My wife says it is smooth but has a finish she don't like. Smells nice. Looks nice. after 1/2 bowl in her Meerschaum pipe she was done. Said I could smoke the rest of the sample...For what the price is for this tobacco there there is better out there and much less in cost.

3 Nuns in a cob on my drive home. Experience was pretty much ruined by a piece plugging the draft hole and I didn't have a pipe tool to clean it out so I just puffed real hard to keep it going. Pretty much just ended up with a hot wet smoke that I gave up on before I was even halfway home. And it's raining now that I'm home, so I can't retry.

dude, i have been there! that is why i ALWAYS try and travel with pipe cleaners, and whenever possible to make sure the cleaner passes through the stem to the bowl. during the drive, it's the only safe thing you can do. other than set the pipe down and grab a cigar. o)
