Discovered around 18,000 years ago, tobacco was first cultivated in the Andes between 5000 and 3000 B.C. At a modern tobacco farm in North Carolina, a farmer will show us how the crop is harvested and cured and we'll visit the Fuente cigar plantation in the Dominican Republic. While tobacco has brought pleasure to countless smokers the world over--it has sent millions to an early grave. In an interview with the Surgeon General, we will explore this leading public health issue. The show will also look at smokeless methods of consumption as well as explore the use of nicotine replacement therapy.

Well, since they interview Fuente, and he's smoking an Opus X, why not an Opus X?

By the way, here on the East Coast, this show has already aired. Don't know about the West Coast.

Finally watched the recording of this show last night. Didn't really care for the first half on cigarettes, although some of the stats were interesting. I also could have done without all the anti-smoking rhetoric from the Surgeon General, etc.

The cigar and pipe sections were both fun to watch and well done.

TTT this was just on the other day and my DirecTiVo is set to tape anything with the words "tobacco", "cigar", or "cigars" and it picked this up. Was very good but seemed like a Fuente Commercial.

It came on Friday around 6 central. I caught the segments on cigars and pipes. It seemed like a Fuente commercial simply because they pick on manufacturer and tell how they do things. The same was done with pipe tobacco, IIRC. I still want to watch the whole show though.
