I don't want to seem like a salesman for my company, but I wanted to share a link for the announcement of our newest cigar, the H. Upmann The Banker. I just tried a couple weeks ago, and I enjoyed it. It's not nearly as mild as most Upmanns. In fact, I thought it was robust with a good amount of spice. I would love to hear some feedback once you try it. I personally enjoy reading blogs and hearing brothers' opinions about certain cigars.

gotta admit, i have dug on some of altadis's recent blends. the retcon of the core h.upp is a win for my palate, and the sumum '10 return made me happy. imma be burning a few of these when time permits.

I will BOLO for one of these. Judging by its package and the recent spate of decent offerings from Altadis, I will burn one.

Altadis has really H. Uppmaned their game. I love the H.U. Reserve. I have one of these in the humi. Can't wait to try it. I'll post my reaction here.

I very much enjoyed this smoke. Unfortunately, the "banker" idea doesn't work for me. I understand the desire to use such given the history of the Upmann's... But I believe this smoke would've gained greater popularity and acceptance if they had used something a bit more subtle, a little bit more elegant and a little bit more classy.

Cigar band and marketing aside, the cigar was very good for my palate. It was however stronger than I expected.

I recommend grabbing one and pulling all the packaging off of it before lighting ;-)

Interesting. I find the marketing/packaging a huge turn off for these. Makes it difficult to take serious like the CAO Christmas release branding.

+1 on that. Hate those huge bands. I prefer the classic style. Tell me what is it so I don't need a color cheat sheet/secret decoder ring, but don't cover so much that I can't get a good look/feel of the wrapper or I have to try and take it off just to light the stick.

We just reviewed one on blindmanspuff.com. I enjoyed it fairly well, thought it's not my cup of tea.

"“I enjoyed this cigar. It’s milder than my typical smoke, and the blend really focuses on a natural sweet tobacco flavor. It’s a nice change from the earth and chocolate-heavy Nicaraguans I tend to favor, and very different from the CC’s I prefer, being much “thinner” in body. While I would generally prefer the richness of a CC or the boldness of a Nicaraguan, this was an interesting change up for me, and one I enjoyed. Recommended for fans of milder smokes, or medium cigars with natural sweet tobacco core flavors like the El Triunfador.”"
