I love the old Cammys and yes, it's a truly classic band-simple and elegant. The main reason I've not tried the new ones is that stupid Everlast rip off crap with the band that's like 4 inches wide!!! You guys are spot-on with that.

Hmmm, I personally like Litto's different bands. Not a big fan of most of his LFD Ligero or DL lines though.

Is it possible that there is a subconscious response? Cigars we like, if they change their bands, are now ugly bands? And cigars we do not lik, have ugly bands?

I do not know, just asking some questions.

Peace of The Lord be with you.
Good point. Rebranding is always a risky move, esp in cigars where tradition means so much. I must say that I love Mi Barrio but first thing I do is remove that freakin stupidugly band, looks like bad street art done by escaped mental patients. Likewise, I love the Gurkha band but out of the ten kinds I've smoked, I've only liked one. Let's see, La Zona has the most boring band ever, also to be removed b4 smoking, but I love the sticks. But for a lot of us it's that perfect marriage of stick and band we all seek. I guess to me that is Four Kicks. Proud to smoke it, proud to show it off.

Camacho, absolutely, and I don't care much for some of the Caldwell stuff, but I absolutely LOVE the LLTK and Eastern Standard bands.

… As far as DE, its such a split. I think the Liga Privada and Undercrown branding is among best in the entire industry...

Thanks, I am truly proud of that design work… both won awards in Europe for their design and printing. I need to add a shout out to Joey R, he was my partner in crime, his amazing talent allowed my vision to come to fruition. :>

I tend to personally prefer that understated, elegant approach to all design. I find it lets the product's quality speak for itself, yet if it is well done can compliment the cigar. Regretfully, it seems like tasteful branding is a thing of a bygone era these days…

Oh well, I am what I am.

Fwiw, that Camacho rebranding has totally revitalized the whole the brand… ask any Retailer.

Not my style, but it is clean and well done imo and definitely one that seems to be getting consumers to reach into the boxes.

As much as I prefer the more classic or subtle bands, you do raise a good point. Hard to miss a new box of Camacho's from across the room. I could see why someone who doesnt have an opinion of the brand already would be drawn to it.

But. Cmon. A scorpion? Did they just throw darts at a board of random dangerous animals?

It actually has to do with all the Scorpions in Honduras, so there is a reason behind it.
If done right, the Camacho boxes do look good in the humidor and are very attention grabbing, which was the point of the marketing concept. The group here usually looks beyond the marketing involved and takes the cigars at their own value, but the average Joe walking in a store tends to look at boxes and bands first.
What is LLTKand eastern standard?

Thanks. I learnrded. And I'm just breaking Camacho's balls. Just mad bc they were a favorite of mine. Haven't tried rebrands. I do love CLE, though.

The Camacho bands don't bother me so much. Before this year I never even had a Camacho. I'm now a huge fan of theirs. I really like the Corojo & Ecuador a lot and the Triple Maduro (to me) is great. They also have a Connecticut that I enjoy. The tubo versions my b&m carry kinda make it nice to pack a few sticks around without worrying about them getting crushed in my pocket.

Never had one of these dog turds, but CI's Fighting Cock has to be on the worst name list. Now that I think about it, there's a bunch more, but way too many to list. Hesitant Pirate, Raji's Untimely Demise, and Angry Elf are just a few, and no, I've never smoked any of them.
I bought a five pack of the fighting cock strictly for the name and I honestly wasn't displeased. I got a great deal on cbid, I think I got the fiver for like 12-15 bucks, and I enjoy them. And it always gets a laugh when someone walks by and asks what I'm smoking. I think I may just smoke my last one tonight.

As far as DE, its such a split. I think the Liga Privada and Undercrown branding is among best in the entire industry. The KFC has actually some cool branding as well, despite the concept sounding horrid (haven't tried one, don't plan to). The Nica Rustica is kinda ugly, the JDN and MUWAT are bad, and the Acid line is downright awful, and the pipe stuff is equally bad.
Gotta agree that the Acid line is pretty bad, and that the MUWAT band isn't the most attractive band out there, but man the KFC is a great smoke. Giving it a try wouldn't be the worst thing that you've ever done haha.
