I am sure there is a thread about this but I can't find it. How do you store infused cigars in your humidor? I have an older 25ct that I got on some deal when I started smoking, and I am storing my kuba/toast/DE infused cigars in that. I put that in my larger humi. I figured that is better than having them next to my regular sticks and it should keep the flavors out. Is that over kill? Is a regular cigar box sufficient?

Is it overkill? Depends on who you ask. I've always just thrown them in with the rest of my sticks and haven't noticed a problem with flavors being imparted to my non-infused sticks.

I don't have any infused cigars, but ive got a couple that use Fire cured tobacco. I stuck them in a separate Tupperware with a Boveda.

Not sure it's necessary, but it was cheap enough for some piece of mind.

I have two cheap 20 counts. One has infused the other fire cured (KFC and Leccia black). It's probably more my ocd to blame for the seperation, but it is what it is.

Yeah, I'm not picky either I have them my other sticks in a ziploc bag.
Exactly. I've seen people on forums act like the the darn things are radioactive or something. The plastic bag is a good idea. Might be a tough call in a tightly packed 50ct desktop humidor. Or maybe even coolerdoor could be a concern. I have a 200 capacity wineador and the infused - to - naturals ratio is maybe 10% but usually even less, because I am low on naturals right now.

When I went to the wineador I kept the desktop humi for the acids for a while. Then for some reason I put them in the wineador on the top uppermost shelf by themselves with their cello. No problems. I have since given the desktop away

But then again, I have a Haier 18 so it is the tall style. Not a cube model. ( bottle racks were 2x a tray, 9 high ) If that makes any sense.

The only infused I smoke are the DE Tabak sticks (coffee infused).. and only recently started smoking them (was talked into trying one on the recent Nica trip.. and actually thought it was great as a "breakfast" cigar...

I dont keep a lot of them on hand.. I think I've got 2 in the cabinet right now... but.. havent bothered to separate them.. when I open the door I cant smell them over all of the SC and other tobacco in there.. I havent noticed any imparting of the flavors or aromas on the other cigars that are close to them.. and.. while my B&M does keep all of the acid and other infused sticks outside of its primary walk in and in a separate cabinet humidor.. the Tabak's are kept inside the primary walk in alongside everything else and doesnt seem to effect anything.. so I figured what the hell.. Its only a couple of sticks.. and threw them in my primary cabinet as well..

I once put a swisher sweets without cellophane in my humidor. The next morning all my sticks smelled infused. Now I know why there is cellophane on cigars. and why I prefer non-infused.

I vote for the ziplock bag. Or a separate tupperdore. you need more storage space don't you?

Don't need more storage at this time. Just upgraded to a wineador. And I have plenty of space in there (for now!). Which is why I put them in the small humi on the bottom shelf. When I get tighter on space I will use the the ziplock bag. Thanks for the feedback.

My thought was as follows..
1. The humidor is already seasoned so being in the larger humidor there should be no need for additional humidification
2. The small humidor has a tighter seal than a cigar box so less chance of flavor transfer

Maybe I am overthinking it and a regular cigar box would be fine? Or just throw them in a drawer with the rest of my smokes? I would hate to have all my cigars taste like a Kuba...

I guess I am asking because personally I would just leave the infused box out on the table/desk/etc... Maintaining humidity in a smaller humidor doesn't require much work and you would have any worry about your fridge ending up smelling like infused cigars. Plus... and most importantly, you'll have plenty of room in the fridge for more cigars.

If the little humidor is of decent quality, I would imagine that the rH inside would actually be measurably lower for at least a while.

Craig I think that is a great idea. Going to set it on top with a power stick and keep it completely separate.

Sailor, the smaller one is not the best quality. Got it as a freebie when I started smoking.
Even though it was seasoned correctly it still has problems holding humidity. Have to refill a humicare stick once a month or so.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

I don't. Ever. I have a handful of infused cigars I keep for friends. They go in a tupperware box with a boveda pak well away from but never in my cabinet or any of my desktop humis. I checked em just last week. Tupper sealed. Boveda fine. Cigars perfect

I personally use a seperate vault, 1 inch solid steel surrounded by 2 feet of concrete approx. 50' underground "just incase".
Can you send me the rebar layout for the concrete? Wanna make sure I get it right the first time. Just went and picked up an arc welder from harbor freight for the vault...
