I'm in the same boat here. Daily driver is a 1990 full size chevy van. She's a gas hog but runs like a champ. Plus small block chevys are easy to work on and replacement parts are cheap.

Reminds me of my sebring, but she's paid for and gets me to work.
.............
Better than my Sebring. The payments outlasted the engine. You must have the 3.0L

@ Ninja - Good luck with the Honda. Replace that tire ASAP buddy. One wreck will cost more than a tire would. Congrats on the new ride. Doesn't look bad at all.

@ChefBoyRG54 Yeah I had the LXI with the 2.7 Found out later they are pretty much considered 70K engines.

Anyway the second marriage made for 5 kids between 18-25 years old in school. I've done my share maintaining klunkers. 2014 I did one AWD trans, 1 set rear hubs, 2 axels. Oh yeah. Heads on the Outback.

My 01 Escape rusted out. So now my new beater is a 2003 saturn lw300 .
It's a 3000 lb wagon with a V6 @ almost 200HP Driven by a mechanic. It flies.

I bought an F150 new in '99. (It too came with a tape deck) Only new vehicle I've ever owned. Still under 100k. I've only had to change the brakes and tires. The wife has had 5 different cars since then.

I have a 2002 Dodge Ram with a 6 cylinder, 5 speed manual transmission, manual locks and windows, it has AC in the winter and heater in the summer. It has 130k miles in it. Fully paid off. My wife won't ride in that truck because it smells like cigars, but my boys prefer riding in "Daddy's rumbly truck" because they get to sit in the front seat.
