Ha. My dad had a 93 and a 95 cobra R when they came out (his racing license was still good so he could buy them from the dealer) . They are fun but I'd rather build my own and make it faster... Ha ha.He's in the auto media industry. I have seen his name on a bunch of stuff.
BTW, I would not spend that money on a single cigar. However, I would have a garage full of vehicles of all types. Everything from a 2000 Integra Type R, to a 93 Cobra R, to 993 Turbo S, to old school Alpinas and Broncos, to modern hyper cars...man that garage would be a hodge podge of every gearhead's wet dream. Nothing gets me going like something on wheels and a motor.
Hard to imagine it is.No.
I'm still debating the $100 Padron. Thinking, is it better than four 40th's?
My thoughts exactly. I'll probably pass on it.Hard to imagine it is.
Never thought of that I asked myself if it could be better than 5 Opus lol. Doubt it highlyNo.

While I agree with you, even with the funds squirreled away, you can still waste money. A 500 dollar cigar is a waste of funds, that most likely I've worked hard to accumulate. If I had it I would. A $500 stick to a multi millionaire is a $30 stick to a thousandaire. It's all relative. I doubt I'd have a humidor full of em but I'd try one. Everyone is posting the better value or what theyd rather have but when you have the means there's no rather.
I disagree... For a $500 price tag.. I'd rather do something completely different with the money... (sort of what I posted previously).. Regardless of how much money I have in the bank, I dont think I could live the life of extravagance that some choose to do...Everyone is posting the better value or what theyd rather have but when you have the means there's no rather.
I started to but didn't think I had to say there's always an exception to the rule lol. I get that you're not that type of guy because you said you wouldn't do it for similarly high priced things in other categories. Typically rather means either or but when one is not forced to have to choose typically one doesn't. So with the means where I'm not saying eh Id rather have two boxes of this etc I already have 4 boxes of this in my walk in in Geneva and 2 at the beach house so I can ALSO have this stupid 500 stick that I can afford to laugh at when its not worth it with no buyers remorse or financial repercussions. As a normal dude like my self willing to splurge 5 hundo? Naw Id rather have a bottle of stagg and a box of Monte 2s and dinner at the palm beforehandI disagree... For a $500 price tag.. I like nice things.. I own expensive watches.. if I had $1B.. I would probably buy a few more...but.. no matter how much money I had, I wouldnt buy a $1,000,000 custom cartier... I live in a nice house... and were I worth a couple of billion, I would probably upgrade.. but.. it wouldnt be to some 50,000 square foot estate that I get lost in... My wife drives a very nice car.. if we had billions she'd probably upgrade to something even a little nicer.. but it wouldnt be a maybach excelero...
etc..etc..
I dont condemn others for their choices.. if someone wants to buy a $500 cigar.. or an $8M car... life's too short not to... go do it...
Me personally however.. I can think of several other things I could spend that $500 on and find far more joy in... even if I had $1B in the bank..
If I quadrupled my current income tomorrow... I seriously doubt my smoking habits would change much... I dont smoke $5-$8 cigars 75%of the time because its all I can afford.. My humidor is stocked with things that I really like/enjoy.. I smoke them because I really like the flavors, profiles, brands, people associated with the brands, etc.. and dont feel like Im "wasting" my money on frivolity.. I could probably afford to only smoke "super premiums" if thats something I really wanted to do... the wife would squeal a lot.. but.. that isnt really the motivator for avoiding it... My problem is on a personal level I would likely feel like a turd for doing it.. when I know there are so many other things I could have done otherwise with the money.. and still gotten the same enjoyment from smoking.. If I had $1B in the bank.. I would still feel the same way.. there are so many other things I could have done with the money.. and still gotten the same enjoyment from smoking...
again.. I dont condemn others for making a completely different decision.. there is a reason there is such a thing as a $500 cigar.. there is a market for it.. there are people that will buy it.. I just wont be one of them..
