"Licensed U.S. travelers to Cuba will be authorized to import $400 worth of goods from Cuba, of which no more than $100 can consist of tobacco products and alcohol combined."
Considering this applies to LICENSED SANCTIONED trips to Cuba I do not think this applies to any travel other than Cuba itself, mainly because the items returning to the US are approved by the US government, we can travel to Canada and Mexico without government approval so I imagine the goods we bring back would still be considered Illegal. I am by no means a lawyer or a law student at that so my understanding of this policy may be incorrect, but the way I see it is that it is still illegal
