The peppin rolled Pallas were some of the best nc ever made imo. The crianza is a real dog rocket. Haven't really cared for the other 6 or 8 I have tried. Though honestly I don't remember the particular stocks

I've never smoked one. I'm of the understanding that they are made at the Oliva factory now. I too would like to know which one is a must try.

Oh..... All of a sudden things are making a lot more sense. ;)

Yeah, I loved the Pepin made ones and even the cheaper ones a couple years back weren't bad at all for the price. I haven't had any of the new lines though I don't think.

I brought two 50 count boxes of the original '68 series Golden Bear (6x60) when they first came out unbanded (soooo good) and still grab a couple of vintage reserve torpedos when I see them. The artemis wasn't a bad yard gar. Past those three, everything else I have had were dog shit.

Ernesto Padilla made some of the best cigars on the market when they were released. I know, same old song, but in this case, the truth. Yes, the Pepin rolled were the best. The other more devastating thing that happened, and it might've coincided somehow, is that he lowered prices thinking he'd sell more that way, which never works. He never recovered from that. The perceived lowering of quality from the price cuts, true or not, hurt the line terribly. Since then the line had basically become a CI house blend. They also screwed over b&m retailers by dumping excess online at discounted prices. I know this happens all the time but in this case, from what I've been told by more than one shop owner, it's especially bad. True story, I was hanging out at a shop in Atlanta when the Padilla rep was visiting, she was telling the owner about a b&m exclusive line. I pulled it up on CI, where boxes were on sale for $50 apiece that day.

I made the mistake of buying two boxes after having a couple wonderful Padilla cigars from botl, only to find the ones I got in trades were not anything resembling what I got in the boxes. Haven't had any new production worth buying

i dont see many Padilla sticks posted in today's smoke thread and was wondering if there were any fans here? if so what is your go to from Padilla?
I have smoked a ton of Padilla cigars. Never have hated one. I have bought boxes of the newer lines, the Miami Maduro is great, as well as the Vintage Reserve and Habano.

Have you smoked the older stuff or newer?

VRM are nice. Pads get a bad rep, but if you give em 6+ months and find em online deals they are pretty good. Used to love the older pads from 5+ yrs ago. The new ones rolled in the Oliva factory are growing on me. Crianzas are really nice, buttery, spicey. I'm glad there are some fans here. I think there was a Pad in the CA top 25. For what it's worth.
