Burley nut - checkStraight burley doesn't ghost. It will even remove a ghost. If it's a topped burley then yes it will ghost. A lot of B&M will top the burley and make it like a sweet or vanilla. I break my pipes in with CH. CH has a little topping in my opinion but it builds great cake and will not ghost. Just my experience. But I'm also a burley nut.
It's when you smoke a certain type of tobacco that has very strong flavors in it and it leaves behind a certain note of character when you smoke it again. Like if you smoked a strong cherry aro and many times after you smoke an English but you can still taste the cherry. What does "ghost a pipe" mean?

Nope, anything that has a very pronounced character to it. That is why some guys have pipes for different blends. I like to mix it up a bit though, it doesn't bother me to much. Thanks hoshy!
So is it mostly just aro's that do that? If so i have no worries then.

I have yet to have any tobacco seriously ghost a pipe. Maybe just remnants of flavor (Latakia) for a bowl or two. The only exception just to be safe is I have a cob dedicated to aromatics. I rarely smoke aros so would not be pleased if one of my briars developed a nontobacco flavor.Nope, anything that has a very pronounced character to it.
