What's the difference between a calabash and a reverse calabash?I sold a couple more items and have been talking to Paul Menard of Paul's Pipes. He is making me a squatted tomato reverse calabash with an off the wall stem. He just eMailed to that it's in the mail...... Can't wait. Pics when it arrives.
Beats me, the one I got has a huge stem and a cooling chamber turned into the stem. I have one of his RC and they smoke sooo good, cool and very tastefulWhat's the difference between a calabash and a reverse calabash?
A Calabash is what you might see in many Sherlock Holmes portraits, many times fashioned from a gourd, but now carved from briar as well. The bowl is a separate piece that rests inside the body of the pipe, so the burn happens in the bowl and the smoke cools and dries in the main chamber below. The reverse Calabash has a cooling chamber basically behind the bowl, in the shank and stem joint, but it's also a place to cool and deposit moisture. What's the difference between a calabash and a reverse calabash?
