I'm relatively new to the cigar obsession. I smoked more than a few some years back and a couple a couple of years ago. Now I am getting interested in cigars again. In my late teens I would go to Tinder Box with my brother to grab a single and usually smoke less than half of it. I didn't understand anything about aging or proper lighting. By the time I understood there was more I was too strapped to afford cigars. lol
My biggest cigar experience came when I was in my mid twenties. I had a boss that rewarded us for completing projects by smoking cigars and hanging out. That is when I started to learn about the details of cigars. I found myself strapped for cash again and that faded. Fast forward nearly a decade and I started using an advanced personal vaporizer (fancy e-cig) to try ending my on and off fight with cigarettes. Since finding naturally extracted tobacco (net) flavors I have been completely cigarette free. I just recently started smoking cigars again after doing research to start making my own flavors for my fancy e-cig. So, I'm relatively new to cigars but not completely new.
For me it is about the ritual as much as the smoking. The clipping, toasting, holding, all of it is an important part of the experience. That doesn't mean I smoke junk. La Jugada Prieto is my favorite cigar since being back (probably ever). I also like a Gurkha Wicked Indie with a month on it, or a CAO Gold with three months. I have a wide range of tastes. However, a limited budget and five stick humidor limit my exploration at this point.
Anyways, that is my cigar biography in a nut shell.
