So, I just smoked one of these this afternoon during lunch... wow, one of the best new cigars I've had in a long time. Going to smoke the La Colmena early next week to see how it compares, but now my expectations are huge. The El Oso rivals the Long Live the King for the "pleasant surprise" award.

My hat is off to Kyle and anyone who helped with the blending and manufacture of this cigar! What a great smoke.

Good to hear Derek. I don't know anything about Warped... what kind of blend on this cigar and please give us a quick review. Spicy? Broadleaf? What say you? :)

I think it's an oscuro wrapper. Some pepper, dark chocolate, some spices, a honeyed sweetness, and a bit of dried fruit somewhere. Smoke is fairly creamy, but with a dry finish, none of that syrupy feeling I've been having trouble with in a lot of cigars lately. Lots of cedar and earth, but in a balanced way, lot more like a Las Calaveras than a Liga No. 9, I guess. Complex and well balanced.

I didn't write my thoughts down while smoking, and unfortunately all I can think about right now is the grape red vines I just ate!

Great to hear. I have one of these resting in my humi. It will be my first Warped cigar, so I'm looking forward to see how they live up to the praise I've seen them get.

What was the burn time? Are they worth the ~$10 price tag they're selling for?

I have some trepidation spending that much for a smaller stick, but if they you're comparing to the Las Calaveras then I may have to pull the trigger.

Burn time was just under an hour, could have been nursed a bit longer if I had the time. Don't know if I can say they're worth the $10 price tag for the Cub... I got it in the six pack sampler from Small Batch Cigars, with a 15% off discount code (puff15), which made them just under $10/ea, including the larger sticks. $10/stick is outside of my ordinary budget for a cigar, but I wanted to give the Warped lineup a try. In comparison to say a Crowned Heads, or Caldwell, or Liga Privada, I'd say you're getting a cigar that's solidly within that level of quality, construction, and complexity.

I actually forgot about the price tag when I smoked this one, which may have influenced my reaction. Is the Cub $10 good? Depends on your budget. For me, now that I think about it, probably not. I want to be able to smoke around 8 cigars a month, and I have to do that for less than $50 a month due to my budget. I'm hoping the larger vitolas are as good, as it might be nice to smoke one a month, and for a larger/longer experience, it could be worth it to me.

Price aside is it a really good cigar? Yep.

I ordered some of the Warped Flor Del Valle Cristales from Small Batch and it was an excellent smoke. With the discount total shipped was $59 for 9 cigars. They are a 6x42 which is a great size. Was it worth the $6.60 ? Definite yes IMO.
Ninja, you might give these a try and see what you think.

Thanks for the honest assessment. The discount code brings a fiver down to a little over $8 a stick which means I'll prob end up pulling the trigger.

Have. Not had the cub but I have smoked the papa, the la colmena and the flor de valle. Bought a box of flor de Valle and la colmenas as they were the ones that really stood out.

I definitely need to get Warped on my radar. I just recently discovered Caldwell and really enjoyed the one I had. I have been on a Viaje fixation for years. Trying out new things from Roma Craft and Crowned Heads as well. Been missing out on other great brands! This one sounds great and I tend to be in the $10 range. Yes, I really wish I could find a cigar with a lower price tag that I absolutely could be in love with.

I've been using the 10% leafenthusiast code the whole time lol. Does the 15% code expire?
