I know that a lot of you like to pair up a certain drink to bring out the flavors in your cigar.
Do most of you also enjoy the smell of your stick as you are smoking it ?

As my cigar is burning I like to bring it under my nose to smell the fragrance of the smoke when just a little is coming off the stick. I feel it help me to enjoy the stick even more.

I definitely enjoy the aroma, and on a still day I'll let some of the smoke from my mouth drift upwards and give a little inhale through my nose.

The aroma of a good cigar is absolutely one of my favorite things about smoking. Cigarettes OTOH just stink to me and I smoked them for quite a few years.

It's interesting how many comments I get from random passers by when I'm smoking outdoors. They've all been positive and I've yet to have anyone stop and tell me "those stink"

Man I will light up a cigar in the Fab Shop just to smell it! Many A Cigars have that lacked flavor and made up for it with aroma they gain LOADS of points for aroma in my book!

Cheers

Funny topic the smell of a stick. I actually hate certain spots I smoke in (In which I smoke?) because their ventilation is "too good". As soon as I puff it the smoke from the stick And my exhale are whisked away. I even smoke new sticks inside on a day and at a time when I know there won't be many other aromas in the air. Conversely I learned that many people appreciate the scent of a good stick. They say things like I usually hate the smell of cigars but yours smells good. The people that hate the smell of cigars usually have caught whiffs of stale improperly stored smokes even cigarettes are absolutely foul or to some, smell worse than usual, when stale. So yes I love the scent of a properly aged. Monte #2 floating around me as I smoke it.

I love an aromatic cigar. Its one of my favorite things about LPs. The Tennessee Waltz actually has that same aroma. Wish I knew what leaf they use because I'd love to use it in my home rolls..

Glad to know that I am not the only one who loves the fragrance of a burning cigar.

That is how I feel about smoking in my garage right now due to the cold. All of the smoke heads right to the top pitch of the garage due to the heaters that are right next to me. What I really like is a nice calm evening when the smoke just lingers in the air.

I love the smell of cigars and have followed those who smoke them....was on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale and this guy had a great smelling cigar so I kind of followed at a respectful distance until he stopped and was just looking out at the ocean....I told him to blow some more smoke my way and he started laughing and reached into his pocket and flipped me what he was smoking...Cohiba Siglo IV and lent me his lighter to light it. We just stood there for almost an hour just sharing the scenery and the cigars..two strangers who share a common delight and great conversation and I thought later to myself that cigar people are very interesting and very unselfish when it comes to our hobby.

I don't normally notice to be honest, but I golf with a non-smoker just about every week. He's hilarious in that he has gotten really good at guessing the price of my stick by the aroma.

"You brought a good one today." - 9 times out of 10, I am smoking a over $8.00 smoke.

"Brought a cheapy today did you?" - 9 times out of 10, I am smoking something under $8.00.

Its freaking uncanny!!

Wait... are there ANY people who don't like the smell of the cigars they smoke? If so, what's the point?!
