I'm still relatively new to cigars. I appeal to you guys to help me make the right decision in buying cigars in 2015. What are your favorite 5 Nic/Dom cigars from 2014? Here's my list to get things rolling.

1) Davidoff Nicaragua Toro
2) Oliva Melanio Robusto
3) Herrera Esteli Piramide Fino
4) My Father Le Bijou Grand Robusto
5) La Palina Mr. Sam Toro

What ever you do, keep that Herrera Esteli Piramide Fino on your list. An absolute phenomenal cigar!

I'm a big fan of a couple you listed, especially the Melanio and Le Bijou. I love Oliva and My Father generally. Honorable mention to the My Father #4, but I tried to choose 5 different makers for my list (in no particular order) -
  1. Melanio Maduro
  2. Caldwell Long Live the King
  3. Flor de las Antillas
  4. La Aurora Preferidos #2 Connecticut
  5. AF Anejo 46
Probably smoked more FdlA last year than any other cigar, right up there with the La Auroras.

I'm assuming that we're talking regular releases here and my favs from 2014 are in no particular order:

1. Oliva Melanio PC
2. Surrogates Tramp Stamp
3. CyB Lonsdale
4. Tat 7th Capa Especial
5. Crowned Heads Four Kicks CG

Great and cheap - just the way I like them.

Hmmmm, that might make a really interesting sub-thread. Didn't think about that. In your opinion, what are the top 5 Nic/Dom Puros?
I was wondering because that makes it a bit trickier and definitely leaves out a ton of great cigars. But a few that come to mind are anything Padron, Tatuaje Havana VI, Aging Room M356, My Father, Kristoff Corojo Limitada, Reinado GER, Reinado Core blend, LFD Litto Gomez. I'm drawing a blank on more Dom puros but theres plenty more Nicaraguans lol.

I really appreciate it, man. I had a bit of an ulterior motive for this thread as well. I'm in Phoenix on business for the week and I know some amazing cigar stores here and the tobacco tax is really low here. So I want to grab as many good cigars as I can. Thus I turned to the experts! BTW, do you know any good cigar stores in the Phoenix area?

Depends where in Phoenix you are.
Just a quick list.
-Mesa/Gilbert: Fox Cigar Bar and Big Sticks fine cigars
-Scottsdale: Cigar King, Ambassador's
-Glendale: Fine Ash
-Tempe: Churchill's
Plus a quite a few that haven't been to.
@Life in smoke could add a few.
