Are you happy at 62% ?

Ive had my box everywhere from 45-50 up to 75% depending on how well ive been keeping up my box or what stage of fighting my humidifer i was in. But, I've noticed if it had been steady for a while i dont have any weird burn issues. However if it was in the middle of a swing they would give me trouble and run,canoe,or ash funny. Might be best to order a 5 pack or two from the devils site or hit the b &m for a few hold oversticks and keep em in a zip lock or tubberdor and give your humidor sometime to level out

I keep mine at 60% and couldn't be happier

Wish I could get here..... Haha. But actually 63 is where I sit. Both NC and CC smoke beautifully.

62 is redick. For decades it was 72 and it was fine and then peeps decided to screw with it. I've been at 72 for 20 yrs and never a problem. Quit over-thinking stuff.

I disagree...... We spend to much on this hobby not to constantly examine and experiment to find what suits us best.

I prefer most of my cigars at 69%-72% depending on wrapper thickness and brand. Pete Johnson recently mentioned that his Tatuaje brands should be smoked at around 70% (it might have been 72%)

I find the "evenness" of the burn can be dependent on the way the cigar is lit among other factors.

This is personal preference and is by no means meant as a guide for anyone else looking for the "right" humidity level for their particular taste....

and back in like 08-10' I smoked damn near exclusively tats. And although I'm not the brand owner. I never said damn that Noella is smoking great at 72!!!! I guess it really shows how much I still havnt learned lol!
One more thing. Sticks will and can mold at 70%rh plus. I humidity check my digital hygros at least 2x a year in all my humis. With boveda packs. Not salt. And I've personally had a very slight amount of white mold on sticks before at 70%rh. Once I went down to 65% I have not seen one stick out of maybe 2k with mold. That was in 2010....

I used to keep my RH around 68-70, but switched to 65 with boveda packs. Just rotate them every so often and I love where I'm at using them. I don't personally see a need to go any lower yet.

I have two humidors, one big white cooler using beads at 65%. The other a small desktop at 62% I smoke out of the desktop. I keep maybe 20 sticks at any one time in the desktop as my go to smokes. I have not had any problem and think the 62% cigars smoke and taste better than the cooler. Also a side note: CC's to me smoke better at a lower RH.

This is EXACTLY what I do too! I also pull the cello off the ones I drop in my 62% Humidor I LOVE LOVE LOVE the smell in there. and I like being able to smell them going in... I get all giddy about it

Windeador is at 65% and 18°C (Beads) Desktop is at 65% 22°C (Boveda) and Tupperdor is at 65% 22°C (Boveda)

For stuff that I'm aging for long term (year or longer) I take the cello off and put them back in their boxes in the wineador. Stuff I'm planning on smoking immediately goes the desktop, and stuff I'm planning on smoking (but don't know when) goes in the tupperware.

I ideally keep mine at 62-65 without any issues. I don't like smoking anything I buy at my b&m right away because I think they keep them to high and they taste bitter. At home for a month in the wineador and they are perfect.

I am with smoqman with rh nearing 70%

I find that cutting at lower rh gives me issues with the wrapper sometimes.

I also like 70-72%. Still easy enough to cut with all types of cutters and zero lighting/burn issues. Again, personal preference.

Good call bratha' I think you will be very happy at 65% to be honest. its like that perfect spot to age and smoke too really. And if you want to dive into a small desktop like some of us do at 62% you have that option. But aging at 65 is killer because 1 you can smoke out of that humidor as well and 2 if you do have any swings in RH they probably are not going to get you out of the sweet spot to very far.
Boveda is my best friend when it comes to my humidors. IMHO its like the TOTAL no brainer for new humidor owners. and when you want to change things up...Ya just swap em out and DONE!

i love Tatauaje but this makes abousalutley no sense. I even go as far as dry boxing my tatuajes and they smoke excellently when kept 62-64%

I use a 65% boveda in my tupperdore. I live on an island so even in the winter the rh tends to be high. Only get a week or two of low rh, even now rh is 87% at -12C. The only burn issues i have is when the rh is high when i take one out to burn.

I haven't even been smoking cigars for a year yet, but I love 65. It was suggested by @THEMISCHMAN and I've never had anything too crazy, issue-wise. I didn't start dry boxing until about a month and a half ago either. I would just pull the stick out and light it.

If it takes a about a week to move the RH 1% on a stick, how much could dry boxing one day really affect anything? I've never understood this.
