As a nondrinker this is far and away my favorite pairing. Smoking a BOTL lance with it as I type.

Bitter chinotto fruit. Some kind of italian dark citrus. Saw them growing when I visited the Cinque Terre last fall.

The drink is most similar to Moxie. Bitter and sweet, very unusual profile. I can only find them at specialty soda shops, italian delis, and BevMo!

Try it sometime.

I'm going to look for this in my neighborhood (S. Philly is heavy Italian). As a non-drinker as well, I am always looking for something that pairs well with a cigar. So far it's been water or coffee.
Thanks for the post!

That sounds very interesting. I will have to stop at out local Italian deli and see if its in stock.
The worst of it is I never leave with out more olives and a couple of pounds of their homemade Italian sausage.
Yeah. That must be a real downer. Sucks to be you!
Tell you what, I'm a swell guy so you can just ship all that crap to me and not have to worry about it.

There Sicilian olives are so good and the hot italian makes the best calizones or pizza. Not sure what is in with sicilian olives but I'am guessing olive oil, fresh parm cheese and red pepper flakes.
