Id like an explanation of why as well ...in other words what the lancero size would do for your blend of choice vs the sizes it's offered in and/or you currently enjoy.

Like I can't even imagine a JV13 lance. What would the lance do for so much flavor and power?

IMO, limit the complexity and nuance, but I am one of the few guys that will say that out loud as it seems as though today it is a pre-requisite to be a "lancero" fan within cigar circles.

I am not. I don't like the limited ingredients it allows me to work with when blending, I don't like how difficult it is to construct the bunch correctly, it is simply too easy to slightly twist thereby impeding the draw and I really don't like the elevated combustion temperature.

Am I saying there are no good lanceros on the market?

Of course not, but I -personally- believe that as a maker you can create a far more satisfying cigar increasing the rg slightly. IMO, the lonsdale is far more pleasing vitola.

This. Corona's, petite coronas and Lonsdale are the sweet spot imo.
This is my opinion also - I personally have three sweet spots that I like to blend within: 42-44 / 46-48 / 52-54

I am -not- a believer in simply scaling a blend between these ranges, which is almost universally what factories do, I like to customize the recipe for each of these three RG windows.

Sidebar:

I was thinking about this the other night. Just like you have to like the gnarliest Hop-bomb-IPAs to be a "craft beer fan," or ride vintage steel framed fix-gears to be a real "cyclist."

Why do we gotta earn them eagle-scout badges to play with cool kids?

I see your point on the reference Sean. But, I am one of a select few that hate IPA and am a craft beer fan. More of a stout and porter guy...
The reason I like Lanceros is not because they are 'hip' or 'trendy'. I like em cuz they are fun to smoke and I feel like the quality has to be high on these because there is less room for error. Also, Much less of a chance that anything unwanted gets snuck into the thin RG stick. Also, I have found blends that do better in a Lancero than any other vitola in that line (for me..)
Examples:
7-20-4
Tatuaje Private Reserve
Hererra Esteli

I like Lonsdales as well, but they don't seem to get special status like Lanceros do. Rarely are there limited edition Lonsdales. Which is really too bad.

I like Lanceros and Hoppy beers....
Me too, Craig. I wasn't suggesting that Lancers were a fad or that IPAs were a fad. I was just thinking that the general consensus amongst every group seems to hone in on one thing. (Of course there are always exceptions to the rules -as Doug and Saka pointed out.)

IPAs have merritt. Fixed gear bicycles have merritt. Lanceros have merritt. I am NOT knocking any of these things. I just noticed that there is always one measure of cool in every group.

Just so we are clear here, I am not denigrating anyone for their preference in vitolas, you should always smoke what you enjoy, I am just opining what my personal preferences are...
