My first cigar was also a Phillies. My buddy and I used to smoke those a lot when I was 16 or so. But my first real cigar was a Punch that he and I bought the day after Thanksgiving in 1996. We stood outside in the cold and hotboxed the thing in under 30 min. I think it was a Churchill. We were so sick afterward and I swore never to do it again....yeah, that lasted :)

The first cigar I ever had was right after I had turned 18, when my friends and myself had became quite the blossoming degenerate gamblers going to mystic lake casino every weekend. Back in the hallway between the casino and te hotel, they had a small gift shop with a walk in humidor. The bottom row is what we were budgeted for, so a round of vanilla rejects were my first cigar. Didn't touch another till years after, then it was an undercrown at a buddies house.

I'm still not exactly sure what it was. I was 18 (5 years ago) and my mom returned from a baby shower. The favor was a It's a girl cigar. I smoked it before dinner and wound up getting a huge buzz and therefore did not smoke one for a couple years. A few years ago my brother in law got me back into them. The first "real" cigar I smoked was an Oliva serie O and I never looked back.

I don't remember what it was but I remember other details. It was summer, around 9PM in the evening. Went to the Tinder Box with a couple of guys and grabbed a couple random cigars. I proceeded across the plaza to the Starbucks, where I spent just about as much money on my drink as I did on the cigars. Sat outside and puffed away. Considering I puffed through three cigars in about an hour, it is safe to assume that I smoked way too fast and did not get anything out of it. That was 13 years ago.

Mine was macanudo hampton court or hyde park I think. I remember researching cigars for beginners and that was near the top of a few lists. Not sure why a shitty cigar is good for beginners.

Kills me to say this one, but my very first "cigar" if you can consider it one at all was a strawberry Philly lol. Once I stepped into the premium cigar world, I jumped right in on macanudo's. And from there it's all history....

My first cigar was a CAO Sopranos edition about 9-10 years ago. A friend and I decided we wanted to try a cigar and we picked what looked cool. The Sopranos was very popular at the time so it was an easy choice. I have no idea what it tasted like now but I should revisit for nostalgic purposes.

Romeo y Julieta No. 2 (Tubo)
Bought it from a wine shop and paired it with a single malt scotch, about 9 months ago :)
It was good enough to get me hooked and make me curious to try others.

My first was in 95/96, from my brother after he moved to a "fancy" apartment, which is now one of those rundown low budget kind of places in a crummy part of town. (Can you say "foreshadowing"? :D) I'm not sure the very first, but the selection at his place for a while was from Punch or Macanudo, the two best brands in the world according to him. Over the years I'd grab the occasional sticks from B&Ms. I'd do the usual, "Well, I haven't smoked a lot of cigars and I'm not sure what I like" game to which the staff would reply, "Well then 'Sir', you need the mildest, least interesting, and most overpriced cigar we can find". OK, they might not have used those exact words, but that's how I remember it now. A couple of years ago now I decided I was going to grab something on my own, I walked in to a local humidor and kept saying to myself "I'm a big boy, I'm a big boy, no need to ask for help, I'm a big boy". I grabbed a JdN Dark Corojo and instantly knew why guys buy more than 6-7 cigars per year! I felt like Mavin Johnson after finding his special purpose, and ran down the streets yelling, "I'm going to be doing this a LOT!!" OK, again, maybe not those exact words.

Mine was in april 2014, after a trip to cuba i had a few cigars to try back home. My first was a monti open junior, very under whelmed. I found it too mild. Second was a cohiba siglo 1, after the second puff i wished i had bought more then 3. Just recently i tried a monti #4 and it was a vast improvment over the open junior. I am thinking of having a siglo 2 for my first anny in april.

I don't wonder; they're delicious!
