I haven't seen much on this particular topic in my short time here, so I figured I would post what I have.

I have become a bit anal in my cigar journey, and I love it. I have begun keeping records on all of my purchases and reviews to boot.

I am an avid pipe smoker as well, but, outside of blending my own I have not gone this in depth with my pipe stuff yet.
I am recording names, date of acquisition, quantity, price paid where applicable, whether I plan to age them, the score once smoked and which humidor I have them scored.

I'm keeping all of my receipts and what not as a second form of record keeping. I know none of it matters, but a hobby is a hobby, right?

Additionally, I already have a notebook where I take notes on pipes, tea and coffee, so cigars will be a welcome addition.

I'm curious to know how or if other people keep records like these, or if I've just gone off the deep end. Let me know, folks

I saw something online about a cigar app like that. I will have to check it out. I never got into baseball cards, so I think I'm overdue for a bit of fan boy collecting. Thanks!

That's awesome! Im not even organized enough to keep my tax records so I doubt I could do that. Its not my personality. I try at work and home but I just cant keep with it. There is no wayyy id keep recipts the gf would find em one day and skin me alive lol. But I do want to start keeping a light journal on what I smoke and if I liked it or not

I am the same way honestly. I am ridiculously unorganized in real life. This is the one thing I am being proactive about keeping up with. We will see how long it lasts haha

I just made an excel spreadsheet last weekend. I started on paper then remembered it was 2015. Lol Jk Nothing wrong with a paper record. I just figured for ease of changing things, like quanities and adding new additions, the spreadsheet is the winner.

Not to mention the total worth of my humidors calculated automatically when changing quantities. Im starting not to like that part though.

I dig it. Originally I had planned to do it in the computer, but I had that drawing book lying around and felt like it qould look pretty sweet. I think I will get one of the apps for the sake of sharing with folks tho. A spreadsheet does sound nifty

Notebooks are great. And I will check out those apps as well. Those are news to me.

I just like to keep a record of my smokes, to one day look back at how I viewed certain cigars and compare to my current (at that time) opinions.

I used to type long reviews for each new smoke. After a while it got to be such a pain. So now I write very brief notes for each, like "Awesome - buy more!" or "meh!"

I've been keeping a cigar journal since starting this hobby back in December '14.
I usually take some notes on my phone while at the B&M smoking, then put them in the notebook. The cigar band is also placed above the review so I know which review is which.
The date smoked, the price (if I don't forget to put it), and notes on what I liked/disliked, would I smoke again, who I chatted with at the shop while smoking, etc. are added.
Some get a lot of detail, some I just put "did not like."

I hadn't even thought about the bands. I have mine in a vase and had planned to glue them to something, but I like your idea. Thanks
