So the other night I smoked a montecristo white that I got in a sampler that I really, really enjoyed. Untill, I remembered something, "they want over $200 a box for these, REALLY?). Let's talk everyday smokes, that are just really outrageously priced.

Now I'm not talking opus's, Padron anneversery's & such. While I wish, they were cheaper, I can understand why they are priced where they are. Plus, I don't consider these cigars that someone will smoke everyday (however, I envy anyone that can).

My starting votes are for monte and Cohiba DR. Every Cohiba that I've had I enjoyed but at that price? No way, not even close.

Now, I don't want to step on any toes here, if you enjoy these smokes and are willing to pay that much for a box, my hats off to you, they obviously will not be coming down in price. Just wanted some insight on cigars that you think are "daily smokes" but are cost prohibitive.

papas fritas - way overkill packaging and presentation begs me to consistently pass.
bundle'em naked / 20's in plain cellophane wrap for @ $75 and watch them fly off the shelf
I wish the papas fritas were a lil less. I also have the same wish for c red dot petit coronas..
Yeah, $6.50 for a 4.5 x 44 smoke is really pushing it. At least the one I had burned slow and did last. Still, that's a hefty price for a cigar that small.

Wouldn't a cigar being priced too high (based on the individual's perspective) prohibit it from being a daily smoke?

Exactly. I'm more or less talking smokes that should fall in to the category of affordable everyday smoke (5-6$) but is cost prohibitive. My ideal example is the montecristo line. IMHO, they can't compete against some $12+ smokes, but they are priced that way. I think this applies to most of us, but daily smoke cost can vary between brothers.
