Hey guys. I have a Pelican 1200 case, and I'm going to a huge cigar fest in Dallas Tx. I'm wanting to know how many cigar foam trays will stack inside the case? I'm new to this site and besides the "Introduction Thread" this is my first post. Popped my cherry, hell ya go me.

Yes sir ZippoGeek. I use Boveda packs, and I love them. I'm really wanting to know approximately how many cigar foam trays will stack inside the case. From the bottom to the top. Thanks.

I have a slightly bigger one (I answered my own question) and I use 3 or 4 depending on cigar size.

Ok thanks. See those only have 6 cigar cutout too! I dunno I just feel like I would be wasting a lot of room with those.

For about $40 you can get a 40ct case similar to your pelican, though much lower quality, off the auction sites. Probably going to be the most cost effective method of having a hardpack case with numerous cigar storage capacity. I have two of em, and I'm pretty certain I didn't pay over 40 for either.

Edit: I paid $28 and $31 for each of my 40 ct travel cases. They work fine, they seal well, hold a good amount of cigars, but I keep two fullsize Bovedas when I use em. Probably fit 32ish with the two packs?

Wonder if the foam trays are sold separately? I've seen the ones posted above that have the cigars surrounded, but the regular herfador foam trays that are just grooves allow for much higher capacity.

Dunno how big your case it, but then you can use your case for a hybrid humidor like mine:

While definitely not built as well as a Pelican, for standard travel, they work well. If taking on a deployment or safari or rugged camping I might consider a Pelican and the full surround foam trays. But these have served me well for trips to the racetrack, campground camping, road trips, and the like. Have been dropped while full, have left outside in the rain, no problems.
