Thanks everyone for the welcome and replies to some of the questions that I've already had. From reading through all of the suggested newbie materials, as well as multiple other threads, I already feel as though I've found my "home" and look forward to meeting some of you all, as well as learning from you all.

Based off of your signature line, congrats brother on 9 years of staying clean! Hopefully you enjoyed a nice stick to celebrate your accomplishments.
Thanks brother. Had an Opus today but I enjoyed yesterday on the last day of my cruise getting Sun burnt so I could "bring some sun" back to Michigan as folks had requested :)

So I've only been a member here for a very short time, but I decided that I'd share a little more about myself. This is the only cigar forum that I'm a member of, and really have no interest in finding any others. I like the fact that many here truly understand what a "brotherhood" is all about. I've been serving on active duty for 18 years now, and rarely do you find a group of people that will take care of one another like folks around here seem to. Especially those that have never met one another. It is common for military to take care of their own, but I have noticed that this group of fine individuals seems to do the same. It is refreshing to know that there are genuine people out there who will still give you the shirt off of their backs (so to speak, as well as those that would actually do it). I don't have near the knowledge or experience when it comes to cigars that most here have, but I'm always here for anyone that needs a recommendation from a newbie, advice on anything (heck, I will be the first to admit that I don't have all the answers, but am pretty resourceful when it comes to finding accurate information to help someone), or whatever you may need. I enjoy being in the company of like-minded individuals, and have come to accept the fact that we may not always agree. After all, that's how most families are anyways. If anyone ever needs anything at all, please don't be too proud to ask. Again, thanks for the welcomes, the recommendations, and suggestions that I've already received in the few short weeks that I've been here.

I've been lurking for the past couple of weeks, and finally decided to sign up today. This site seems to have a wealth of information and there is definitely not a shortage of outstanding members. I look forward to learning quite a bit from you all, and hope to give back as much as I take away from The Brotherhood.

I've been smoking cigars for about 18 months. Some of my favorites so far are the La Cima ENg robusto, montecristo no.2, LPH, PSD no. 4, and San Cristobal to name a few. I just got my new wineador setup this past week, and will start filling it over the coming weeks. I have a few sticks in my desktop humi that have been resting for the last 15 months, but I'm ready to put some to rest for the next couple of years. I'm looking forward to my share of a few splits that will be coming in the near future, and the opportunity to try some new smokes. I just transferred here to San Diego, so I'm still trying to locate a decent B&M or lounge, so if anyone has some recommendations, I'm all ears. Thanks for the warm welcome as well.
Our buddy, "O'side" can help you find that B&M.

Glad to see the brotherhood is represented in Texas. I'm a native Texan, just "temporarily visiting" sunny San Diego again. I will be back in Texas in 2 years though, and my wife and sons can't wait.

While you're a guest in the land of fruits and nuts we'll have to get together.

I wouldn't go that far, but it is definitely a "different" mindset. Not better, not worse; just different. But when you've been stationed all over the country and deployed overseas, you become thankful for the opportunities and experiences that will last a lifetime. And I'm definitely good with meeting for a smoke prior to my departure.
