Partagas Serie D and Partagas Serie P.
What's the difference besides size/shape? Does the D/P just refer to a shape, or is there something else different about the cigars?
I've had PSD3s, PSD4s, and PSP2s. And if someone asked me why the torps were called PSPs instead of PSDs I wouldn't be able to answer them.
I should probably know the answer, and I feel a little embarrassed asking it!
Thanks,

The P in PSP stands for Piramide. I don't have my MRN handy at the moment, but I bet it says what the D stands for in PSD. Each # has a different vitola.

The series of cigars that Partagas released back in the 50's were in four gorups: A, B, C & D. Each Series had 4 cigars, each series had the same ring guage, and each vitola had the same length throughout the series.

Serie A 38 Rg
Serie B 42 RG
Serie C 48 RG
Serie D 50 RG

#1) 6 5/8
#2) 6 1/8
#3) 5 1/2
#4) 4 7/8

These were the standard serie cigars from Partagas, but the 2001 Serie D #3 didn't follow the traditional size for the Serie D #3 ( 5 1/2 x 50) but went with the odd size of 5 5/8 x 46 instead.

*info from Perelman's Cigarcyclopedia

As for the Serie P No. 2, Josh had pointed out that it's a Piramide, and the reason it's a number 2 is because of it's length, 6 1/8.

Thanks for the info! I figured the P just stood for piramide. But there also might be a blend difference?
I guess I'll just have to get some of each and try them!

Would you recommend the PSP over the PSDs?
I LOVE PSD3s and PSD4s. Maybe the PSPs are even better?
