Who else cannot fight the urge to smoke ROTT?

ROTT: right off the truck.

I don't know what it is? I have a modest collection 150-200 smokes on hand, some that are well seasoned, but I still cannot fight the urge to smoke a stick from a 5er, 10, or box the minute I get it. Some are winners, some are losers (that usually get better with age). I should know better as even two weeks in a humi will do wonders for a cigar, but I can't help myself. I even have smokes with similar profiles that are much more aged, and would probably be more enjoyable. I can't fight this power, it's relentless.

Yes, I have a problem, how about you?

I smoke ROTT all the time. I don't give a shit. Sometimes it doesn't work out so well....no risk, no reward lol.

I have too much trouble getting quality sticks, and don't smoke often enough, to waste great sticks without giving them a rest.

Last time I did that the stick had bad draw and cracked near the band while smoking. Not super enjoyable.

I buy now to smoke later. Particularly since I noticed some B&M sucks at keeping humidity in the "humid" side of the scale.

The idea is to keep the humi filled at all time.... its easier that way

Right there with you. My goal is to wait 8 weeks before smoking new arrivals. If they make it 4-6 weeks, it's a miracle.

my goal is to wait a year, but normally after 2 weeks I start smoking it. Except lately. I've received way more sticks than I smoke. So they should last 1-2 month.

Seems most of the time they're overhumidified ROTT and need at least a week or three before they even smoke well. ...but sometimes I do, and usually regret it. It's been a long time since I've smoked ROTT.

I smoke ROTT (within a week or so of receiving) all the time. Some cigars simply taste better to me that way, rather than aged or left alone for an extended period of time...

My last delivery arrived yesterday while I was at work. Knowing that it would be spending a few hours out in the cold, I knew that they'd at least benefit from some time to thaw out.

So when I got home, I opened the box and took everything out, and tore straight into an Ave Maria from my 5 pack. I know they'll be better after some rest, but I'm not unhappy with the way it smoked...

I've been trying to plan ahead for this very reason. About half my sticks have been resting since late December and given the brutal winter we're having, I won't be smoking on a regular basis for another few weeks to a month. Until then it's just been a few here and there. So all my recent purchases are going to be able to sit for a bit - though it will be hard, especially with my recent order from Small Batch on its way.
