So @fourkicksfan, @Joevikes, @3/5King and myself will be rolling into the area sometime (TBD) Friday morning. We were looking to play a round of golf before the herf and were wondering if anyone can recommend a course in the area. Something picturesque, but not super difficult. Also if there was anyone else interested let me know!

Let me see if I can get you a tee time at the club I belong to... Very nice course where the local PGA tournament is played each year...

Or.. If you're looking for something more picturesque.. There are a couple of courses around gatlinburg that overlook the smoky mountains that should be beautiful by April

There are quite a few good golf courses up towards the mountains up there. If mdwest can't work something out if I can play that Friday we could go to my cc.

If youre wanting something reasonably close to the HERF site.. I have never played here.. but Ive been told its a reasonably easy/relaxing course.. and very scenic, with great views of the mountains, etc..

Or.. if you'd rather play something closer to what the locals enjoy.... there's always this:

This place has two courses the highlands and the river. I suggest the highlans as the river is a bitch. It has 12 of 18 with water or something like that. It always is a long round because of frustration lol. Also look on golf now .com as there is another course up the gatlinburg golf club or country club I can't remember. It's supposed to be nice, I have never played it but they have a signature hole it's a par three like 170 yards that you hit a pw to because of the elevation change.

Based on the research I've done I think you're referring to the Gatlinburg Municipal Golf Course. Apparently Golf Digest rated in the number 1 Muni course at one point in the US.

Play our legendary #12, affectionately known as "Sky Hi." It's 194 yards in length and drops 200 feet, tee to green, making it one of the most dramatic holes in the country.

I'm really open for whatever though -- just want it to be scenic :D

solid facility with good support staff and decent accessibility. 10/10, would recommend. if you can't get into/ find the one that has the blacklights...

Dont want to sound like a begger.. and I am being 100% sincere when I say donations toward food, etc.. is not a requirement.. but... I would really like to keep us out of hotdog land during the HERF if at all possible.. to date we've had 5 guys send in some cash (one of whom is a guy paying for a bunk all weekend.. who refused to take "no" for an answer.. so really only 4 so far that are not already out of pocket for other HERF expenses)... which is going to leave us a little short on vittles unless people are ok with very limited options on chow...

if a few more of you that havent paid for bunks, would be willing to throw in a bit to help cover meals.. it would be greatly appreciated..

Doesnt have to be today... I understand people need to plan, wait on pay day, etc..

Just do please consider.. and let me know.. that way we can start planning the menu..

Thanks!

If I unload this overtime by April 1, I will kick in a few bucks. Are we in hot dog territory or potted meat territory?
