I'm better than I was at first...when I had only 8-10 sticks in the humi it was almost impossible to not try something new ROTT! Problem is, I'm getting into cc's and when something new comes in, it's very hard to not try one. Some have been amazing, and few not so much ROTT.
I can assure you it is not superstition. Just recently I smoked a Triunfador with only about a week in the humi against my better judgement. Not enough time. Burn was wonky, tunneling, everything short of cracking on me. Let the other four rest for a couple of months and smoked another. Perfectly straight and even burn.
Unless you're driving behind some grey-haired spinster in a Camry in the middle of nowhere. Then the F-bombs start dropping! Freaking hilarious outtake from your GLA vs. Macan Turbo video...Patience is my virtue, it seems.
I may be confused. When we are talking about "ROTT", is that only referring to new purchases directly from the manufacturer?I can assure you it is not superstition. Every now and then I'll smoke something ROTM (right out the mailbox) and I regret it completely and go back to sticking by my methods.
I've always taken it to mean Right Off The Truck, or just after it's been delivered to your door. Probably more a concern in cold weather, as the cigars are often inevitably subjected to temperature changes during shipping, that can allegedly affect their general well-being for a short while, until they've had some time to rest. Makes sense, as tobaccos is grown (and cigars are created) in warmer climates. Put them on a USPS truck in the winter, and they're out of their natural climate for a while.I may be confused.
