hey ya'll,
so here is the story, i have a jar on my dresser that i put all of my change into at the end of every day, all silver, pennies go into a water jug LOL, so this jar used to be the "Harley" fund however other things have happened and it was renamed the "Cigar" fund. so of course i still have my budget for gars and of course the wife always asks "how much are you spending today?" so we agreed that with my cigar fund the wife couldn't ask me how much or what i spent it on and cant yell at me for spending it LOL (its the little things to avoid the arguments ;-p ). well the moral of the story is i decided that i was going to get a wineador and shelves with it, I'm pretty sure ill have to throw a little extra money in the jar to do the cooler, shelves, ETC, fans, humidifier, and whatever else.

now that ya'll have a little background (and a laugh at my expense) i used the search function but couldn't find a solid price range on what a full set up costs. can some of the fine Gents that have these wonderful things give me an idea of the cost you spent?

would like to see the size of the cooler, what you put into it, and the cost. greatly appreciated brothers.

(from a NON-wineador owner FWIW) Nice on the set aside account, I have one too but she doesn't know about it (looking to grab a wineador as well, come on its an investment to protect investments as a brother told me) LOL......from the little research that Ive done man looks like you can be in the game for $168.20 shipped from air n water http://www.air-n-water.com/product/cc-280e-bl.htm
Use code "BUYNOW" for 20% off.......of course your humidity beads/KL will run a few bucks...but nothing in perspective IMO

I have a koldfront that I picked up for 130 including shipping fromscratchand dent. One shelf and two drawers from a well known guy were 100 shipped and a 12 pack of 69 boveda 40 bucks. My winefridge is dual so cubes stay in the bottom at 62 @62 another 12 of bovedas 40 bucks. I have one in each drawer and they have been in there for months. Others are individually wrapped and stay in there in the back. I'm ordering three more drawers from someone else with dividers it's gonna run about 240 shipped. So from start to finish. $560

Here is a link to my last wineador build with links to purchase everything and some detailed shots of installation. This setup seems to be working really well so far. It's definitely overkill but hey ... if somethings worth doing it's worth overdoing! If you have any questions hopefully I can help you out.
dude! that set up is sweet!!! i really like that!! thank you for showing me that thread brother

well i finished counting the Jar last night and right now i have 322 in it. i figured i would need 500+ to do it right.
The cost is all over the map, and a lot of it depends on what you need. I don't need heating, and I open my humidor enough that the air doesn't need powered fans or anything. I personally like the idea of everything settling inside, but YMMV there.

Depending on where you live, I'd check Craigslist and some of the clearance stores (Big Lots, Ross, that kind of thing) before looking elsewhere. I got both my Vinotemp 28 bottle wine coolers on Craigslist. One was $75 and was like new, the other was like $40 I think, and just needed the fan to be replaced, which was under $10.

If you buy boxes, you don't really need shelves, but there are several guys around who can make them. Drawers are the real expense when it comes to a wineador. For shelves, figure about $15 each, and for drawers, figure $30-40 each depending on what options you pick.

My first wineador was seven drawers, top to bottom. That setup ran about $250 for the drawers, plus the $75 I paid for the winecooler on Craigslist and my total was somewhere around $325.

My second wineador is three shelves and two drawers, so only about $115 for the shelves and drawers, and about $50 all in for the wine cooler, for a grand total of around $165.

Basically, you gotta figure out what you want and then work backwards from there. But it doesn't have to cost a fortune. if I had skipped the drawers on the second wineador, which were not really necessary, I could have been all in for about $95.

The rough breakdown on my New Air 180 is as follows:
NA 180 - $189.95 (thats full retail so anything less than that is good)
Beads - $33.95 per lb (I use 2 lbs total because I want a faster recover after the door opens)
Temp Drawers - $16.97 (again, full retail but they are usually on sale for $13.97 or less)
Custom Shelves - @$250 +/- depending on options (I got an extra drawer for more drawer space vs. shelf)
ETC - $49 (ebay all day long)
ETC cord - $10 (Im guesstimating this price for an extension cord from Home Depot)
PC slot fan - $2.99 (Amazon all day)
Power supply for fan - $5 (I had one that worked but if you had to buy one its about $5)

Id say you could be looking at $280 to $600 for an 18 bottle and up from there spending on options you want to add (i.e. ETC controller, custom drawers/shelves, etc...).

hows the 180 treating you? I'm up in the air between it or the 281.....screwed myself the other day, had the 281 in the cart for 123 shipped and didn't pull the trigger....now "out of stock" type of self inflicted wound
