Yep, I if there's no line, I'll bring my stack to the clerk. Just say "all paid, just need receipt" and never had the questions. If there's a line, they have a self dropoff box for parcels and I'll just dump em in there and be on my way.
Same here - I like to hand it to the "counter monkey" (great term) so that I can get a confirmation receipt. At the post office I go to, they're truly government workers who hate to expend any kind of energy. I get a nasty look from them just because they have to hold the box in front of the scanner and then tap three different buttons on their screen.

I can't imagine any of them deigning to waste breath on a mere customer and actually ask questions.

I think earliest is the next day for scheduled pick ups, or just get it in your mailbox, or drop at po without waiting
My mail comes around 5. I never schedule a pickup I just put it in the box with the flag up. They take it because they can't get the mail in there if they don't lol.

@ChefBoyRG54, I say this with love... N O O B ! :cigar:
In fairness I shipped ups from work most of last year. I found the usps online after selling something on fleabay and thought man, that was way better!

Now if digging through my cooler to assemble bombs didn't take so long I could blast all you bullies

I should add they'll pick up whether or not it's scheduled if it's in the box, but if you want to request a special pickup like its on the front porch behind the statue of the naked lady.....you have to do it the day before but you can give them instructions on where it is and such
