Since I purchased my aw281e I have been seeing a lot of post/pics of the cc300. However, I've yet to find the difference. The specs are exactly the same. Am I missing something????

for the MOST part, they are the same. besides the obvious of coming with shelves, the cc300 has a temperature range of 54F - 74F, while the 281e has a temp range of 54F - 66F. the main storage area is the same in both models.
i have not seen a cc300 sold as a s&d.
depending on your needs, the cc300 might be fine (4 shelves, 2 drawers).
if you find a 281 as a s&d (i got mine for $110), you can add shelves (2) and drawers (4), and the price will be competitive as the cc300 - you just gotta wait on the woodwork. get on the list ASAP!

CC300 drawer also has an analog hygro. I know they cannot be trusted. But it does add to the visual appeal. Not sure if that's an option when ordering custom drawers from winedors or chasidors.

Being able to adjust the temp to 74 degrees doesn't bother me. I prefer to keep my sticks at 65 degrees. I've recently learned that the quality of the shelves used in the cc300 are substandard. Not the same quality of Forrest and John.

Unless something has changed, I'm pretty sure Forrest is actually the one making the drawers/shelves for the cc series...
Nooo no no. I am NOT making the drawers/shelves that come with the CC-300 coolers (or the Whynter sets either) I think they went to China MFG for these coolers and the smaller ones. Early last year I was building for the CC-280 coolers, but once they established their product with everyone, I guess they went overseas for the components and are completely different than what we used to make. Some folks have said they are brad nailed together. Dunno..never seen one. I don't do ANY of their CC-300 or the CC-100 coolers. I do see their boxes say Made in China.

Ah, typical American "success" story. You help them break open the market then they move production to China and leave you flapping in the wind. Sorry man!

The 300 is wider - 18+" I believe - the 280 (281) is 17" wide - I have an under counter spot that the 280 would fit in and the 300 will not - I did not buy one but had looked at the sizes. Not sure if they still make the 280 and 281

I just got the CC300 a month or so ago. The cedar in there is very thin and arguably crappy. I had a suspicion this could happen but needed instant gratification.
@GolfNut I wanted to buy from you guys, but the wait was just too long for an impulsive guy such as myself.

I was comparing the 330 to the 281. The 280 and 281 are not the same. I could be wrong but I think the 280 only allows for single shelves.
The 280 only fits double depth drawers, 6 max, the 281 has twice as many slide positions so it can do double depth or single depth drawers, still a max of 6 doubles, but you could do up to 12 singles or any combination there of.

The overall dimensions and internal dimensions are close on both, but different enough that the drawers are not interchangeable.
