Tubos and mold talk lately...so what do you guys usually do with your tubos? Store them sealed? Crack the cap? Remove the cap?

Also curious what creative uses you've found for the empties. I don't have a great need for an emergency tampon carrier, but I'll come up with something.

When I get cigars en tubos, I put them in the humi with the tubes. If I don't, I won't be able to call them "en tubo" anymore.

when empty, I hack them into beads humidifier.

Those are very nice herf

Cigars that come in Tubos are meant to be stored in the Tubos they come in. You should not, ever open a Tubo, just to look the cigar and then put it back. Doing that will completely disrupted the aging process.

I keep them in the tubes until it comes time I want to smoke them. I have a collection of the empty tubes which I still am trying to find a use. Although, it does seem valid to use them as some sort of humidifier for the humidor. Hmmm...new project!

Genius. Still scratching my head as to how I didn't think of this. I was trying to figure out a bead container that was actually worth using and I gave up and ended up buying tubes from Heartfelt.

What kind of mesh is that? Is it stainless? I have some tupperdors that I plan on using shortly so this might be a project for me soon.

This is the mesh from a dollar store pen holder, but I am trying to source a better mesh. I am sure there are some pond filter tubes that could do it but didn't find any so far.

I've had a few tubos that started to mold. Just like any hand made product "NOTHING is always". Most tubos are fine with no concern but some cigars or the cedar sleeves might have had too much moisture when put in the tube. Now I take the cap off and store the cap next to the tube. YMMV....

I've avoided any tubos just because I didn't want any increased chance of mold. I do like the idea of using them as small humidification devices.

I honestly take them out of the tube just to save space but if you were to leave them in cracking the top isnt a bad idea
