I was looking at the KoldFront T/E 32btl, sing.zone but was put off by the thermost bar in the middle of where I want to put my drawers. (Plus its fans run 24/7) Instead, I'm going with this; http://www.ebay.com/itm/32-Bottle-Single-Zone-Thermoelectric-Wine-Cooler-with-Adjustable-Shelves-BIG2131-/281216407139?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4179cdd663 It's slightly bigger inside, fans work with the thermostat, and its way cheaper! I had the 16btl version and it worked very well, but I outgrew it right quick!

It looks like you trade the fourth shelf in the 280E for the hygrometer and the moisture reservoir in the 300. Plus the 280e is a little taller but narrower.

I would probably bypass the analog hygrometer, so it seems like a little loss to go for the 300.

There's a cheaper way to go if all you want is a cooler for boxes. Click on that link in my other post (if you haven't yet). These things are bigger than the NewAir and get good reviews.

Zigarro, are you currently using this? If so, would like to know how it is working for you. I saw these and was interested. Thanks in advance.

I do not think there is a thermostat on those machines. Perhaps you could alter it or add an ETC but as-is I would imagine it keeps things too cold. (correct me if I am wrong)

*HerfDog is partially right; there's no thermostat display, but there is a dial on the inside, upper left wall. I don't have the 32 yet (ordering in a few days) but I did have the 16btl and it worked well. It's fans only run when the thermo kicks on and since I use several hygrometers in it, I monitored the temp. It has a removable water tray beneath which receives condensate from the drain hole, which most recommend plugging that hole to further seal in humidity. I'll deal with the inevitable puddle by laying a nylon full of beads in it to absorb and redistribute that moisture. Just be sure to not let wood contact the back wall. I like it because its bigger and cheaper than the NewAir and if (perish the thought) I grow out of it, its cheap enough for a second one. Hope this helps bro...
*** Edited to correct; There is indeed a display on this 32 model at its top! I just clicked on it and spotted it, oh happy day!
