My wife did say they smelled really good. Trying to get her to take a picture of the cap to see if we can close this discussion.
Question: if they turn out to be fakes; do i have any recourse since I paid with my VISA? (nm, saw the post above)

Well gents... Got the pictures from my wife (see edited original post) and I only see two caps.:( What's insane to me is why the forger's don't do the triple cap just to complete the package. Obviously, I'm glad I know either way but if they had put 3 caps I would have just assumed legit for the sake of getting on with smoking. Damn...

Easier with better pics indeed!

What's your current course of action?
Reverse charges?
Yes, it appears so. Luckily I paid with VISA. What wording should I use regarding this purchase when I attempt to chargeback?

Just tell them you made an order and did not get what you paid for and the vendor isn't willing to work with you.

Sorry, man. I suffered the same fate with a box of Boli RCs from Costa Rica. The giveaway was the cigars didn't have triple caps. Single caps! LOL! If you PM me with an email address, I'll send you a list of good vendors, and you can give it another try, because PSD4s are amazing sticks.

I think those were fake sticks in a real box, though.

I know there's a rule against naming vendors, but when they're ripping people off by selling counterfeits, shouldn't they be outed? If that's not a genuine box, that's some pretty good forgery.

Anyway, let us know how those smoke! Even if they're not what you ordered it's possible they're still good, right? Especially if do reverse the charges. ;) Anyone else ever buy counterfeits that were good, or at least smokable - or is it pretty much a given that they'll suck?

Nobody is saying that the box is not genuine.

Maybe there even used to be genuine sticks in it.

It can't be done, because then Botl.org opens itself up to potential libel liability. The site owners could sue Botl.org and slap the site with an injunction, or cease and desist order, until the matter could be resolved before a judge. That means this site comes down until the matter is settled in court. If you're interested, run a Google search for Cohiba 1966 for $395 and a couple sites come up. They all look fake. Selling Boli RCs for $160. Dead giveaway.

OK... just to play a little devils advocate here.. I just looked at my box again and checked for triple caps... they all have them but some are not as pronounced as others. You may want to wait till you get home and give them a good visual under good light.
You have more positive than negative right now. Let us know what you see when you get your hands on them.

You're a good guy, man. You just get a box, you're unsure...And then the hammer. I've been there. It sucks. I still plan on returning to Costa Rica where my girlfriend's uncle was ripped off. He was trying to bring me Cuban cigars. I want nothing more than to firebomb the vendor's little store. They were the most insanely real-looking fakes I've ever seen. These scum are getting good. I was a victim like this man of the real-box/fake-sticks species of ripoff. But he can look at those sticks from a million different angles if he likes; the result will be the same. Those caps were atrociously done. They look like tobacco condoms, lol!!! Softening the blow is very noble, but I think this man needs to call a spade a spade on this one.

I called the cigar vendor and offered to send back the cigars if they would pre-credit me the full amount + $20 for postage. They said no they would do so after the package was returned and I would need to pay for shipping. I said, "well I guess it will just be easier to keep the cigars and file a dispute with the credit card company" and then hung up. I don't feel bad as I tried to give them an out. Thanks to everyone for chiming in on my vendor experience.

Just curious if this vendor is a known seller of fakes? I saw the name before it was removed and had never heard of them.

Wow! They know what they sold you, it's just that most customers will take their word that the are "real" and never question it.

Following out of curiosity. Let us know how it goes with the credit card dispute.

Sorry about the bad luck, Brother.

I found if you google around about sources, you can find open discussions about good and bad vendors. You just have to dig. There was recently a link posted here to some videos about telling real from fake CC's where the presenter spilled one or two vendors that he likes. Unfortunately, you have to watch about 4-5 segments in to catch it.
