My new lawn mower pics, what do you use?

I picked up a new lawn mower yesterday at a local dealer. They had a sale and the price was actually 50 bucks cheaper than home depot.

It is a Cub Cadet SC500EZ with front caster wheels and push button electric start. This should be very easy on my back to use.




For the past 7 years we used a lawn care company to mow. But their quality really went down and we did not renew the contract with them after last year. Running mowers through flower beds, cutting down flowers and veggie plants while trimming, etc. I figured if I wanted it done right, might as well do it myself.

So what do you use for your mowing needs?

Nope, no seat on this baby. Cub Cadet is the only company I found that makes a mower with front caster wheels. It really makes the mower easier to handle and turn. I like the feature that you can either use them as swivel wheels or they can be locked into position like a normal mower. The electric start is something I had to have if I am doing the mowing. Go bumble bee!

Now to figure out which Echo trimmer to get....2 cycle or 4 cycle?

My last trimmer was a 4 cycle and I hated it. Harder to start and didn't have the low end that a 2 cycle does. I thought it would be great not mixing gas, but it proved to be more hassle than mixing gas. I am getting ready to buy a trimmer and I am pretty sure I am going with lithium ion this time. A buddy of mine bought one and I was pretty surprised. No starting, very low weight and lasts about an hour.

I have a exmark zero turn for my dads house ( 5 acre) and I use a snapper push mower for my house( 1.5 acre).

4 cycle = too heavy. Been there, done that; love my ECHO 2-stroke!

Tim, love it. I'm a bit of a cub cadet fanboy (sign of getting old). I have a simple hoc push model, but it's gone 8 years with me and no issues. Same with my cc snowblower which is a beast.

Only issue I had was when the wife decided to use it and cut the whole lawn with the choke open. Replaced the spark plug and all was well.

I bought a lithium ion black and decker last year on clearance at lowes for like 30 bucks. The thing is a beast for no more than I need to use it. I charge it every three weeks. And its even light enough that my 10 yr old son uses it when he is in trouble.
