So I went to Nollans tobacco (great place) in Traverse city Michigan for a Rocky Patel tasting event in Traverse city. I am not the biggest Rocky Patel and to be honest not much of a fan at all. But for $10 you got a cigar and 16 oz draft beer so how could one go wrong. I chose the robust sungrown by Rocky Patel as my cigar and the beer was a stella. The beer was okay but the cigar was meh to say the least (sorry RP fans). After finishing my RP cigar and stella I decided to turn things up a notch and went with this pairing.

Horny Monk and a 88 anejo. yummy!

Met this cool guy (Sean) who loved his connecticut NUB cigars and agreed with me on the Rp sungrown (he chose the same cigar)

To top off the evening I decided to purchase a nice array of some opus X (Nolans has some the cheapest prices around being they are the largest dist of fuente in Michigan)

I also think I got two or three new BOTL members. One of which is a local sports radio host and writer for local stations and ESPN Rick Coates. Cool dude! He signed up while we were sitting chatting about sports and business. Was a great time and if you are ever in Traverse city hit me up! Good time for beer/liquor and cigar. Great place for good times!

I was thinking more along the lines of the beer and cool people haha! Yeah I had to relight the damn thing 3 times and it was a robusto.

Man, sad to hear about the rp. I always liked the sun grown, BUT, that was three years ago, and I've progressed greatly since then, and haven't tried one in a long time. Nice haul on the opus's!

Glad to hear it was a fun event!

Sounds like I'll have to look you up when I pass that way as I head to Walloon Lake.

Cheers,
Spenny
