Why is irradiation not used to kill tobacco beetles? It would seem to me the obvious thing to do. Do the beetles resist irradiation, is it cost prohibitive?

I would guess cost as vacuum or freezing must be cheaper. Otherwise there wouldn't seem to be any reason why it wouldn't work, I know there may be some stigma against it but these companies more than likely run on a shoestring budget and only if beetles became an epidemic would I expect to see any use.

Aren't there issues for post irradiation food consumption? Is it even tolerated in every country?

Would radiations alter my cigars?

Can I put my incoming stogies in the microwave instead of the freezer?
