In fact, this isn't even too original....they used the Cuban Cigar thing once before, IIRC.

A couple of years ago there was quite a scare when they announced some sort of pending moratorium on the sale of internet cigars....rumored to have even caused some panic buying

I remember that one. IIRC folks were already worried because there had been recent FDA headlines, and people were not amused by that particular fakeout. Famous actually issued an apology for that one because so many people bought it.
