First off, I've got to once again brag up my wife... I recently ordered some cedar trays and posted pics of my upgraded Tupperdor in another thread here and figured I could later move them into a wineador. I've been looking at the CC-300 for awhile now and was planning on one after an anticipated bonus on the 24th of April. Two days ago, however, while we were rearranging the house she suggested that I go ahead and order it!
Two days later (thanks Amazon Prime!) here it is!
The box looked a little rough when the FedEx guy brought it in, but upon further inspection it was just the outer layer! (Double boxed!)

Once all unpacked, I took each tray and drawer out and inspected. Unfortunately their quality control wasn't 100% as a drawer has some tacky, sticky glue that I couldn't easily remove.

Nonetheless, I pressed on. We choose to live in a tiny house (1,180 sq ft, not the Texas Tiny houses!) and it wouldn't fit where I had originally planned: bedside as a nightstand due to the depth of the unit and proximity to a nearby closet door...
... even better is now I get the entire front entry closet! I'll raise the bar for hanging jackets, build shelves above, and have a great little nook! This may also keep three year old fingerprints from the glass. If not, put a lock on the closet!

I placed the only two cigar boxes (empty) that I have in it along with 4 small dishes of distilled water. I measured and then bought a small, somewhat deep cookie dish to eventually hold kitty litter (Mimi) or Heartfelt beads. In the meantime I also poured 1/4" of distilled water in to assist with the seasoning.

I can't wait to get this thing up and running as the Tupperdor was getting too full. I've also got an Adirondack Humidor coming my way Tuesday to keep in my office at work, and having this seasoned beforehand will be nice so I'm not tempted to throw sticks in it too soon!

I'll be sure to post more pics once it's seasoned and filled!!!

bro nice pick up man!!! excellent...I too learned that in TX these things are a must! not a luxury IMO....needed to protect your investment (expensive words but worth it)......TIME TO FILL IT UP YOU HEARD IT GUYS!
Precisely! At first I was looking at a Montegue End Table (which would have fit beside my bed!) but decided that I needed the temp control. (Also started freezing all incoming sticks)
I also cut down the terrible mulberry tree in front of our house this winter and it's already sweltering inside during the days! We planted a Live Oak, so in 30-45 years we should be good again! In the meantime we've got another tree or two planned as well as building a pergola to help shade. It'll support the wisteria we already have taking off!

Nice score brother. I'm happy it wasn't damaged. Reminds me of when I ordered an led tv from amazon. The front of the box had a hole in it. I put my finger through and could touch the screen:woot:.

however, all was good and not damaged. I just started adding sticks to my wineador so hopefully it wont take too long to get the rh up for you. I waited till it hit 75, then replaced with kl, untill it fell to about 67.

Wow, close call!
I've been keeping close tabs on your thread! How are you liking yours? I had my mind set on this cc-300 for awhile and considered reconsidering after reading yours but wanted something without a door handle to be lower profile. I think that we'll both be all right (all three of us actually; you're not alone in your thread!)

Ha ha ha, yeah, I think both units are almost identical. I added one box and probably half my sticks into it today when it was reading about 68%. I came home today and it's reading a perfect 65%. I'd say, wait until it his about 75% and then take out the water and replace it with whatever humidification device you plan on using. Wait until it falls to 69 or lower and add sticks. I I have two trays with kl and a cigar oasis that @ZippoGeek hooked me up with on the very bottom shelf, and one container of kl on the top.

I will say this, it's opened up a whole new world as compared to my desktops. I hooked up a friend with one of my old ones, and I'm still gonna keep my other 150 count since it was my first nice humi and holds a special place in my heart.

Just realized you live in Big Spring, Brent. I grew up about 90 minutes north of you in Levelland.

Not to de-rail, just got a little nostalgic about West Texas.

The wineador looks fancy. As soon as my wife and I can agree on a budget I'm going to start saving for one. Let me know what you think of yours. In my mind it's between yours or the one 8ball and zippogeek got this week.

I'll be heading to Levelland in a few weeks to South Plains College for our Rotary District Assembly!

I'll keep you updated on this as it goes. So far I love it!

Around noon today it was reading 75F so I took out the water but knew I couldn't fill this thing so went to a buddy's house and picked up 6 or 7 empty boxes and put them in here along with water on the bottom. It dropped back to about 65 as the boxes were not seasoned. I'll wait 'til it gets back to 75-75 and take out water and replace with KL tray and KL box.

As cigars goe in they'll replace empty boxes or go right into those boxes!

Man, this is fun!!!

Update: Moved all of the cigars in after the KL was maintaining 65%. Dropped it down at first but now back right where it's supposed to be! Slightly disappointed that my cedar trays won't fit side by side: two per layer. Also may take out a shelf or two as many boxes won't fit in that narrow space I found.

Yep, I had to remove a shelf to to fit my 2 Oliva v boxes. I'm sitting rock steady at 65%, so you should be good to go. (y)
