Then realize you like em?

I do this a lot, not the realize you like em part, but I buy a bit of popular smokes for trades and bombs. I don't usually like what's popular. I'm not a fan of pepper bite on retrohale, and I prefer a mild/medium maybe a high medium at the most. But the popular smokes are the big body ultra potent smokes.

Smoking the last one of a fiver I bought to bomb out. Sent out 4 in bombs, and decided to smoke the last one and I'm kinda liking it. Not that ill buy a box for myself, but this single smoke is pretty good.

Its a La Casita Criolla from Tatuaje. Not a Tat fan myself, and these for taste like a Tat. But I'm enjoying it despite the full/full profile. probably wont finish it due to strength, but enjoying the flavor.

Am I alone in buying stuff I don't typically like simply to bomb out?

Every once in a while, something will come out and if I come across it I'll grab it so I can make sure guys I know are looking can get their hands on it, but generally speaking I buy for myself and my own palate. If I bomb, it's from my own stash, stuff I know I like.

I've bought many cigars I never tried. Didn't buy for others but just worked out that way. Prob would have liked them :)
What he said...sadly. Given away numerous cigars that I never made the time to smoke and then see people ranting and raving about them for months after I had them in my possession. Oh well...I've had my fair share of great smokes anyhow

I buy cigars for me first, if I send you one, it's because I want to share one with you. I do not have anything in my humidor that I do not like at this point. I also don't live by a B/M though so I have to be picky with what I buy.

Edit: I do however buy cigars that I enjoy and then give more out than I smoke. So I'll save the remaining ones for a better day but continue to give them out never really smoking many myself..

Yep....this pretty much says what I do and I don't buy cigars that are marginal anymore...just the ones I know I like and glad to do it as this has been a practice of mine for the last 10 years. I tend to send out cigars to people I know that like them or send some out to people who I know have never tried them but are looking for something I know they'd like. I've probably sent out enough cigars to people who after trying them got addicted to them as well...CigarPimp should be my new Avatar.

Yeah, I do this sometimes and for the same reasons. I don't want to send a lot of mild/med stuff to someone I know likes full-strength pepper bombs. I'll also send out stuff I tried and didn't personally like if I know a lot of other guys like it.

I'll get stuff I know people will like in bombs.

Definitely don't buy anything for trading sake. I don't really trade so it might be a moot point, but I think it's in bad taste to do that*

*exceptions being like buying a box of the Mason Dixon North so that you can trade half for the South or something.

Why bad taste?

Again, just my opinion.

I notice a number of people that buy cigars to trade in a way which will profit them. To me, that's the same as charging above retail and like actions.
Ah, I see. Yeah, that's uncool.

I'm thinking he means like a limited or HTF that you don't like to use as collateral down the road just for the sake of collateral. No intentions to smoke it or anything. That's a bit whack. Lol
