Box dates on Padron 1964 Anniversary Sampler?

Hi everyone,

So I'm thinking in buying a box of "2010" Padron 1961 Anniversary Sampler Natural. However I do not know this person and I'm not very familiar with packaging and labeling of this particular box. Is there a particular mark or sticker or label I should be looking for on this box in order to prove that they are indeed form 2010? The MSRP is around $90 and I'm buying this 2010 box for $125 so I wanna make sure I don't get hustled. Thank you!

Are you able to post a pic of the sampler? Also it should be 1964 Anniversary (maybe it was a typo). Have you smoked any of the Padron Anniversary line?

The Padron boxes I've seen don't have any date markings on the box. There is a small slip of paper inside that has the box date.

Generally folks don't seek to age Padron very much, the tobacco is normally aged something like 8 years in the 1964 line, the going rate for age is $1 per stick per year. 5 stick 5 years $25 , so perhaps you are getting fleeced for $10. IMHO however, you're better off finding a sampler on sale that is "new". 5 years on Padrons is a bit of a crap shoot. They could be great or they could have lost a lot of the flavor that makes Padron so tasty.

I'd lean towards they lost something. I've aged Padron 64s before simply by accident and when I went back to them I didn't enjoy them very much at all, they really lost something in that time frame. I can't imagine 5 years of age would be a good thing for any of the Anniversary or Family Series Padrons.

Thank you guys, I would've never imagined that happened to these Padrones given their flavor profile, it's good to know! I probably won't buy them.
