I would say go with one you want mind having to relight or that isn't too complex. If you're drinking and talking there is a chance you aren't paying a lot of atention to the stick. Save your favorites for alone time. That is how I recommend approaching it.

I say Ladc, it's a great smoke, and why possibly be disappointed on a Friday night? You're going to be having a good time, so don't leave it to chance. I rather enjoy the Excalibur line, and the ryj and ab are probably decent choices as well. The smokes that you have there are much better than what I had when I started out(y).

To be honest before I came on here I always thought everyone thought they were really good cigars. I'm not saying a lot of people don't enjoy them, just that I don't see much Gurkha love on here lol
Not sure if you'll find much gurkha love anywhere, except the b&m when the guy tells you along with the patels they are his best sellers.

B&Mers, as I call em, luurve Gurkhas. If you buy all your sticks at your local store and the only stuff you ever read about cigars is in CA magazine, you'll never realize how overpriced they are for what they are.

I'd have no problem with them if they were billed as moderately priced, average smokes. But the way they're marketed is ridiculous and destroys any respect I might otherwise have for the brand.

The average B&Mer smokes a tiny fraction of the variety that the guys on forums like this one do, so how is he going to compare? Most guys on these forums probably smoke more different kinds of sticks in 3 months than the average B&Mer smokes in a lifetime.

My own records indicate that I've smoked 68 different lines of cigars since the beginning of this year. 3 of those were Gurkahs. One was a solid $3 stick and the other two were absolutely awful. Ironically, the Trident was the decent one and it's considered a "budget" Gurkah. The other two I won't mention.

Wow 68 different lines in a year? I better get smoking lol. That's impressive in my eyes, I want to get that kind of variety. Thank you for your post and your opinion on Gurkhas, Shlippy.

The only one that actually sell here is the Casa de Garcia. But they are not very good IMHO.

I received my first ghurkas and will try them shortly to be able to make an opinion. What I understand is that its not that much about what they are, but how they are marketed.

People in here knows their stuff and reading the forums will widen your cigar horizons. I can tell you that much ;)
