Got that pipe of of eBay for something like six bucks. One side of the stem is stamped "Algerian Briar" and "FRANCE". The other side says " Wall Street"

Don't know anything else about the pipe other than that the previous owner's initials were probably GCM because there is a little medallion glued on the bowl that someday I'll get around to removing.

Edit: took a pic.

Working on my briars, trying to see the point... cobs just smoke so much easier. Sure, briars are really pretty, but the margin for error is so much greater. A cob, you pack n light and it smokes.

honest question: do $100 briars smoke better than yello-bol or Kaywoodie or Graybows? Got a bunch of cheaper estates for my briars that I reconditioned but still prefer a cob.

Kendal Kentucy inna briar Graybow (I think)

I'm no expert and my experience somewhat limited, but my higher end briars smoke much better than the grabows I have had. They don't have to be $100+, I have a briar that was like $35 that smokes like a dream. I look for briars that have thick walls and that have been drilled straight and pass a cleaner without issue. I like bent pipes, but tend to have issues with them gurgling. That being said, I love my cobs and they smoke excellent regardless of what I throw at them. I have found that certain blends are better in briar (I.e.Mississippi River) and others are better in a cob (I.e. EMP)
