BOTL - As we prepare to release Las Calaveras EL 2015, I thought that posting this new Crowned Heads blog would be apropos:

http://www.crownedheads.com/why-las-calaveras/

It's my sincere hope that you will read, enjoy, and share your thoughts and comments. There's literally a 'story' behind every release we've done to date; however, the story behind Las Calaveras is--to me--the most important of them all.

Cheers.

Thank you for sharing this podcast, it was a great listen!
I very recently lost my grandma and as I quickly packed to go be with my dad and family, the only cigar that was consciously packed was a pair of las calaveras, one for myself and one for my dad.
When we were finally able to slow down and rest I shared the story of las calaveras with him as we sat outside smoking and remembering nana, it was a fantastic couple hours and it really helped my dad with the grieving process.
I know we could have shared any cigar and still had a great time but the las calaveras and the story that accompanies it made it that much more special.
Thanks for helping create a great memory.

Thanks for sharing! Great read.

I love Cigar Jukebox. It's a great show and a really fresh take on cigar reviews and cigar podcasting.

Thanks for sharing, I've known the story behind it but it's good to read how it touches people personally. So... Hats, shirts, and jewelry?? @JonHuber

gunther7912 - I'm sorry to hear of your loss...and touched that you chose to share a Las Calaveras with your dad. You 'get it.' Thanks.

Erikcooper - Yeah, last year we did a short run of Las Calaveras hats & t-shirts...this year, we've created a LE Print (250 hand-screened prints), and I'm waiting on this piece: https://instagram.com/p/13g2hhHM5_/?taken-by=thecrownedheads

Cheers.

Very awesome story... Never tried any CH yet.. This makes me want to be on the lookout for them.. Thanks for the post on the story and being active on a forum.. That alone proves a man stands behind his business.. Love it and I'm sure I will love CH after I try them

Crowned Heads are a must try. The Headley Grange was one of the first boutique cigars I'd ever smoked and I love those things. I haven't been disappointed with anything from them yet.

Gonna be getting a few. Wish I could enjoy one more with my dad-in-law, but he is now bed ridden and probably doesn't have much left in him. He smoked cigars many years ago, but quit. I did get him a Cuban several years ago that he enjoyed. Really enjoyed the podcast.

Jon huber that was a great read and Las cal is something I hold dear to my heart. I had one on the anniversary of my fathers death which is close to my baby girls birthday so I celebrate life past and new life. Dave at cigar jukebox is someone I now call a friend and I love that he can get all you guys on the show all the way down here!! Heck Dave even convinced me to sell him one of my prized Hecho Con. Can't wait for the new sticks! Great job by crowned heads.

This brand has been a 'hit' since it's first cigar and how they keep coming up with hit after hit is phenomenal...I don't think I've ever had so many boxes of just one brand in my history of smoking cigars for 45 years. I'd say keep em coming but that would probably bankrupt me.
