Being a Kid...

Last night, about 3am, I heard a boom.
No it wasn't @acc05R1 bombing my mailbox, thank god he's already done that, but it did wake me up...



It was Thursday night here, and after all it's Fort Lauderdale, but this sounded a little different.
It shook the house.
I got out of bed and walked to the living room, which was surprisingly bright to say I had left no lights on.
Went to the front door in my skivvies, prepared for a raised fist and the right 'Get Off My Lawn' tone of voice.
I expected to see some kids with some cherry bombs or something..



Instead I saw some headlights backing out through my bushes....
WTF??
Luckily, there was no damage to the house, only one brick in the planter got knocked clear out.
Before I could utter any words, they were gone and I went to back to bed.
Tonight I assessed the minimal damage and remembered that time... back in high school....
I leaned into a corner way too hard, with buds in the front and back seats, no seatbelts, and after a couple 360s, I ended up 2 feet away from taking out a farm house.
An Angel was on my shoulder back then.
As I look at how close these guys got to hitting the tree out front, I realized, I'm not the only one with Angels.
So tonight, as the moon came up in early evening, I celebrated with a couple Angels..



and funnily enough realized, for the trifecta, this cigar was from @rev.b.
Here's to being a kid once guys, glad I made it through.

yea man, I guess that's why I just can't get too pissed off about this. If major damage was done maybe, but I did far worse back in the day. Live and learn or die and don't.

Yeah, looks like those tracks are right next a tree. Could have been a hell of a bad deal for them.
Glad you suffered minimal dammage from some kids learning the hard way what we all learned the hard way.

Sometimes a close call is all that's needed to learn, lets hope that's the case for those kids.
